Listening to the Ellis launch (which has an EPFL unit @EPFL_ELLIS_unit ). Nice to see excellence and breadth of ML research across Europe.
So on another note; new standards for AI in clinical trials have just been published bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m321…, nature.com/articles/s41591-0… interesting...
OK, apart from views on algorithms and ethics, I try to be totally apolitical. But this one kind of matters a great deal. Whenever people talk about corona say, they always say there is hope because of research. Protect the ERC in the EU budget chng.it/8Wy59CWP via @Change

Time flies @PurdueScience Patrick Wolfe and I edited a special issue on #AlgorithmsInSociety two years ago and this has now gone to Open Access at bit.ly/TransA-2128. Recommend checking out several of the papers from @mireillemoret @HetanShah @DanMercea and many others

Only 6% of all profs in maths in the UK are female, but 40% of all maths undergraduates are. I have co-founded the Piscopia Initiative to combat this "leaky pipeline". Read more about our initiative isabelladeutsch.com/2020/07/… #WomenInSTEM @PhDchatter @EdinburghUni @StudentExpGrant
