#SYNCHRONY and #AntarcticaInSync are bringing together teams operating long-term ocean moorings around Antarctica to share what exists, what is missing, and where collaboration could make a difference.
The online workshop will look across observatories — from the deep Southern Ocean to continental shelves and beneath ice shelves — and share technical, logistical and scientific experience.
Participants are invited to share:
I CAN — something your group can contribute
I CAN’T — something currently blocking your ambitions
🤖 How could AI help us decide what, where and when to observe in the Southern Ocean?
Join the OAISIS / #SYNCHRONY workshop to explore how AI/ML could support future polar observing system design.
📅 18–19 November 2026 (Register by 5 Oct)
📍 Munich + online
🔗docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
The interactive workshop will combine Southern Ocean observations, sea ice, observing system design and hands-on machine learning — bringing different communities together to test what AI can actually contribute.
🧑💼Open positions on the WAPSA RWG Leadership Team!
