On 5 May, Deputy Head of Mission Minister Ikegami attended the “Kyoto Prize at Oxford” event held at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. The 2025 laureates are Professor Shun-ichi Amari (Advanced Technology), Professor Azim Surani (Basic Sciences), and Professor Carol Gilligan (Arts and Philosophy). The Kyoto Prize was established by the Inamori Foundation in 1984 and, since 2017, the University of Oxford has been hosting a series of lectures and panel discussions by the previous year’s Kyoto Prize Laureates, followed by a dinner.
