Of all the lessons on life I have encountered in fiction, this passage remains my favourite:
“It is praiseworthy to be brave and fearless, my son, but sometimes it is better to be a coward. We often stand in the compound of a coward to point at the ruins where a brave man used to live. The man who has never submitted to anything will soon submit to the burial mat.”
— Chinua Achebe, Arrow of God, p. 11.
Admission of failure 😂

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has unveiled a police welfare plan aimed at improving salaries, settling pension arrears, and providing healthcare for serving and retired police officers if elected president in 2027.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Phrank Shaibu, director of strategic communication of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign council, Atiku said his proposed “Police Dignity Guarantee Plan” would address longstanding challenges affecting police welfare.
He also demanded an immediate explanation over the status of the Police Exit Bill and called for an urgent review of police salaries following the pay increase approved for members of the armed forces.

HUNKUYI ACKNOWLEDGING PUBLICLY WHAT EVERY WELL-MEANING NIGERIAN ALREADY KNEW PRIVATELY?
Senator Hunkuyi To Governor Uba Sani:
“Secondly, Your Excellency, the Governor, Almighty God has restrained the devils and chained them up during the month of Ramadan.
“In which month did you capture my elder brother? Please keep him for us. Hold him firmly and do not release him. Keep him securely...
“Do not release him.
“Wait until everything is completed.
“Until you receive your crown [re-election] in your hands, then release him to us.”
~ Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi
Did Governor Ubah Sani counter him? Not to my knowledge. Silence means corroboration, endorsement and acceptance.
