How did Harper get to see the AMAZING trade deal Mark Carney walked away from but Pierre Poilievre did not?

I watched this happen, not because I sought it out. Jerry Springer was interrupted to show it. We watched the second plane hit in real time.

Is anyone else getting sick and tired of this? 🤬 Canadians have changed their spending habits and are deliberately trying to BUY CANADIAN. 🇨🇦 Then a shopper at Fortinos owned by Loblaw finds American-grown blackberries labelled on the store sign as “Product of Canada.” The package? Product of USA. 🇺🇸 If Canadians are making the effort, retailers can at least be honest about what they're selling us. It's obvious there needs to be heavier fines implemented.

It was a pretty big deal to watch people jump out of 90th story windows and plummet to their deaths on the sidewalk on live TV when I was in kindergarten, yeah.
People born pre-9/11 have such a weird, worshipful attitude about it.

By all means, ask Premiers to return US booze to our shelves, play that bargaining chip, that's what it always was. Canadians can still choose not to buy American booze. I know this Canadian wont be buying any.

I don't actually want Trump to be impeached. Bear with me here. Impeach him and he's just a victim again. A martyr to MAGA. I want to see the house and senate flip. Make him a complete lame duck. Then I want to see impeachments. Start with Blance at the DOJ. Then Patel at the FBI. Then Hegseth. Strip all his lackeys of power. Then I'd like to see the Epstein files fully released while he watches helplessly. Watch his name drug through the mud while he screams and rages futilely. Watch as any legacy he thought he may have goes up in flames. Watch his name become synonymous with pedophilia. Enough to shame him and his children so that none of them will ever live it down or run for office. That would be Karma and fully justified.

I have been called an alarmist and worse by well meaning people who want to think it will just all be ok. But it doesn't always end up ok and we can't pretend it will. Trump is targeting Black voters and women to rig this election. We need to stand up, call it out and act.

I searched CTV News, CBC News, Global News and the Globe and Mail for any coverage of Shopify's CEO in the last 24 hours. Nothing (except business reporting from the Globe, nothing to do with the CEO suggesting poor people should have less of a say in our democracy)
The way our media has ignored Shopify execs’ egregious efforts to shape public policy (with the exception of @the_logic and @TheTyee) is actually damning. Whose interest is served when you ignore this?

Another example of a man charged with first degree murder, accused of killing a woman while out on a previous criminal release. Toronto Police have also charged him with failing to comply with an undertaking. An undertaking is a legally binding promise made to the court or police requiring an accused person to obey specific release conditions while their criminal charges are before the courts. A charge of failing to comply alleges those conditions were breached. If these allegations are proven in court, this case will once again raise serious questions about release decisions. Protecting the public must remain the overriding consideration when determining whether an accused person should be released or detained. Every case must be assessed on its own facts, but when someone assessed as suitable for release is later accused of taking an innocent life, those decisions deserve careful re-examination.

Another tragic reminder that intimate partner violence demands a different level of scrutiny. Every case must be assessed on its own facts, but where the Crown’s case is strong and the evidence points to a pattern of violence, victim safety must be paramount. A court order prohibiting an accused from contacting the complainant, directly or indirectly, is only as effective as that person’s willingness to obey it. Why should a court rely on the accused’s assurance that they can suddenly control their behaviour when the evidence suggests otherwise? In my years investigating homicides, these cases rarely began with a single isolated incident. Past behaviour is often one of the strongest predictors of future violence. The presumption of innocence is fundamental, but so is protecting those at the greatest risk.
Indeed. With his Vaughan address, sounds like they were separated and the Courts thought a worthless restraining order would keep her safe. Another Canadian woman let down by 🇨🇦 Courts & Justice.

Fox is a disgusting, toxic, revolting network that platforms the worst of humanity, peddles in lies, and pays people well to put it all on full display. But this seems to be what their viewers want, which says a lot about them as well.
