As mentioned recently on the podcast I’ll be absent from @wearetherace’s #F1 coverage for a while. I’m switching fully to Pappa-mode with Oskar and Alice for the summer. Mentioning here in case anyone notices I’m gone and wonders why. I’m sure many will be thrilled 😀 TTFN 👋🏻
Impressive that we got all the way to October and can still find a whole new rubbish scenario caused by the biggest problems with F1’s engines and rules

Easily the best #F1 formation lap I have ever seen. Give me more, please. I am hollering in delight.
Parental leave gave me a different experience of F1, as it was the first time I’ve stepped back in almost a decade. I’ve tried to contrast that perspective with the in-bubble experience rather than tell people who watch F1 on TV what it’s like watching F1 on TV!
The Race's Scott Mitchell-Malm just had 3 months away from #F1.
Here's what he learned from experiencing it from the outside:

“No one is interested” in how drivers drive the car but George Lucas has an “incredible view on how the new fans are watching” that apparently matters more. Another disappointing but unsurprising stance from Domenicali - good, sharp takedown of it by Edd: the-race.com/formula-1/f1-lo…
This might be my new favourite England game…ever! Mega atmosphere, Mexico’s gung-ho start, 1st half goals, 2nd half drama. @FootballCliches I think judging aesthetics and footballing theatre falls under your justification - is that the best England match of this century?
There’s no obligation for a sporting event to have a satisfying pay-off but as it costs a fortune to go to the race or a sub to watch on TV and all fans invest time in this, the least they deserve is a real end. Is a red flag if no restart with two laps left, for example, viable?
🚨 Procedures were followed correctly in the final laps of #F1's British GP - so it was correct that the race behind the safety car.
But the FIA says the aborted restart that caused confusion was the result of a "software error" ➡️ the-race.com/formula-1/f1-br…

Silverstone brings back yo-yo racing and battery world championship talk. I’m watching solely on TV now. Some racing is good, a lot of the overtaking is too random. Biggest thing for me is absence of battery info. It makes an energy-limited formula needlessly tough to understand!
Who really starred and who flopped in #F1's #BritishGP sprint? Here are our winners and losers:

“I didn't need to be back in F1. But I felt like at the same time I didn't want to leave the sport the way I left it. Because I believe myself that I'm one of the top drivers here. And coming back makes me realise that I'm one of the top drivers.”

Wet arrival early on Sunday morning in Miami. Lots of thunder and lightning (more than I’ve seen in my sheltered life and a lot closer too!).

Exactly what we didn't want to see with these starts. Outstanding reaction from Colapinto.

Newey said Aston Martin only discovered last November that many of Honda’s F1 engineers had been reassigned after 2021 and hadn’t returned. How? It was known back in 2023 that Honda’s engine project wouldn’t be the same as before. Something is amiss there. the-race.com/formula-1/adria…
