‼️ We must fix debt challenges in SIDS before they become debt crises.
SIDS debt rose from 42.3% of GDP in 2000 to ≈ 60% of GDP in 2022.
Challenges worsen for countries most vulnerable to climate shocks. High recovery cost➡️ debt vulnerability.

The SIDS Global Children and Youth Action Summit is a global movement!
Young people from the Caribbean, Pacific, and the Atlantic, Indian Ocean and South China Sea (AIS) are building consensus on critical issues as we move closer to @SIDS4AB and @Sidsyouthaction.
In Vanuatu, a partnership between UNICEF, Ministry of Youth and the National Advisory Board brought together children and youths to discuss key issues of importance to them, ahead of #SIDS4 and #CYAS next month.

The country is committed to rehabilitation, and #mangrove restoration is a key solution.
In June 1995, the mangrove propagation programme began, with at least 3-fold propagation to date!
