A picture of our Christmas party at the historical Christmas market in Friedrichshain. We were very happy to get together with colleagues and excolleagues and celebrate that the group keeps growing every year! PLD wishes you all happy holidays
Meet Francesca! Francesca Ciaglia has recently joined the group to conduct the second part of her Master's thesis on linear carbon chains in SWCNTs. At PLD she will measure the samples she made at the group of Prof. Carlo Casari at @polimi Viel Erfolg!
On Tuesday the members of PLD went on a "mystery" group event, which turned out to be a visit to the local circus. It was great fun and we now have a group mascot, a pony called Steve
Today we are taking part in the Adlershofer Forchungsforum with two posters on the anharmonicity of carbyne higher orders and PAuM for surface and thin films Raman spectroscopy. We are lucky to work in such a dynamic science and technology hub as Adlershof! @IGAFAeV @HumboldtUni
PLD family is growing! This week Rafael has joined our team as our new posdoc researcher. He will be the main pilot of our Porto, the TERS system that he developed as a member of the @fabns_nano team back in Brazil. Welcome to Berlin, Rafael!
Last Friday Pietro won the poster award at the Light Connections conference organized by our friends of @FridayLightTalk Congratulations to Pietro and to the organizers for a great event!
In our new paper @NatureComms we use nanoporous Au membranes for bulk-suppressed and surface-sensitive Raman scattering, improving the surface-to-bulk Raman signal ratio by 10^3 - rdcu.be/dLgs0 #Raman great collaboration with @HumboldtUni @ETH @LeMansUniv #IKZ
Yesterday Getúlio successfully defended his Master's thesis on Resonance Raman spectroscopy of individual carbon chains encapsulated in DWCNTs. We are very happy he is the first student to get a Master's degree in our group and will stay with us for his PhD. Congratulations!
Today we welcome @FGoncaAras who joins us as a postdoc researcher through a Science Fellowship Grant by @Tubitak Gonca will work with us on gold membranes for surface-sensitive Raman spectroscopy. She obtained her PhD in Nanophotonics in #atatürkuniversity . Welcome to Berlin!
Shortly after the inauguration we had the first chance to test our new system's capabilities imaging the D mode of a graphene edge with 20nm resolution. Don't hesitate contacting us to explore your samples beyond the diffraction limit
Two months ago we officially inaugurated our lab after the installation of our @fabns_nano TERS Porto system. Thanks to all the friends and colleagues who celebrated with us and got to know our new system and to our friends from @fabns_nano who came to Berlin to install it!
