That is some 'day after' planning...
Pres Trump told me tonight the US had identified possible candidates to take over Iran, but they were killed in the initial attack.
"The attack was so successful it knocked out most of the candidates," Trump told me. "It's not going to be anybody that we were thinking of because they are all dead. Second or third place is dead."

All the pundits said Manchester United would do well this year. And they were right because they can now take Grimsby to penalties, so they’re getting better.

"Every one of our challenges is systemic. Companies need regulation and incentives to act… If these policies or tools are lacking, it’s all of our responsibility to identify them and advocate for them. We can only do this together.” My take for @climacatalyst

LET PEOPLE ENJOY GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO THEM.
The world is perpetually on the brink of WW3, the cost of living is sky high, the people in charge of the country couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery and we’ll all be dead one day. They’ve won 5-0 to stay top, let them live.
Remember 2023? The year Climate Catalyst came of age. Very proud of the difference we made, and partnerships we built. Excited to apply the learning in existing and new areas in 2024
We’re proud of the strides we've made at Climate Catalyst in 2023, our model has been refined as we aim to make a significant #impact across our programmes this year. Read more about our work and impact in 2023, and what lies ahead in this blog from our Chief Executive @SHaleClimate.

Every COP is best understood as an annual scorecard rather than the game itself, @billmckibben has said. Wise words. COP28 is more evidence that global commitment to climate action continues to accelerate. Kudos to all those who fought long, hard and together to secure this. 1/2
The scorecard that matters most is of course the emissions trajectory from the major emitting sectors. To shift that, we must influence politics and policies at national level. Our work @climacatalyst focuses on decarbonisation in steel and aviation. 2/3

Further thoughts on Sunak
Post-Brexit U.K. can’t compete with US, EU or China for clean industries based on market size or subsidies
The UK’s super power was 20 years of bipartisan support for climate action.
Sunak has destroyed this & done a Lis Truss on the clean economy

The recently released GSCC certification standard faces strong criticism for its failure to accurately capture the social & environmental impacts of #steelproduction while also avoiding any meaningful mechanisms to lower the industry's #emissions.
🧵Action Alert Thread :Civil groups highlight trouble in industry. The Global Steel Climate Council's "standard" for low-emissions steel, touted as a step towards sustainability, is facing strong criticism.

Not to be alarmist but…this is what’s called a six-sigma event, now unfolding in Antarctica.
Otherwise known as a once-in-7.5-million-year event.
Hang onto your hats.
