"Coach, you never gave me a guardian cap." Coach checks his phone: "Yes sir, I handed you guardian #27." Kid runs back to his locker. Found it. 😂 That's the power of tracking your equipment. No more $50 giveaways. No more running around before practice. #SidelineHQ

Reconditioning used to mean a packing slip and a guess about which helmets came back. Now it's three clicks: Select your helmets Send to Reconditioning When they're back, hit Receive and mark any condemned Every helmet tracked the whole way.

Missing Missing posters are for dogs. A shoulder pad should have a student, a coach, and a date attached the moment it leaves the cage. Mark it lost in the app and the Lost report totals the damage. #SidelineHQ #HSFootball

AD Math Bought 120. Have 71. The other 49 are "somewhere." You can show your work, or open the Transactions report and see who checked them out, which coach issued them, and when. #SidelineHQ #TXHSFB

What a player owes End of season. Two practice jerseys and a helmet are somewhere in a sophomore's room, and somebody has to call his mom. The Charges report turns that phone call into a printed statement. #SidelineHQ #HSFootball

Budget vibes Your business office does not accept vibes as a line item. The Value & Depreciation report shows what you paid, what it's worth today, and when you bought it. By sport, or the whole department. #SidelineHQ #AthleticDirector

Coach Mike Every program has a Coach Mike. He knows where everything is. He is also the only one who knows where everything is. Equipment history should live on the school's account, not in his head. June is coming. #SidelineHQ #HSFootball

The spreadsheet Somewhere in every athletic department is a spreadsheet that runs the equipment room. Nobody knows who built it. Nobody is allowed to delete it. It is not up to date. #SidelineHQ #AthleticDirector

Shoulder pads "How many shoulder pads do you own?" should not be a trick question. Serialized tracking turns "yes" into a number, with a location next to every one. #SidelineHQ #HSFootball

End-of-season return The pile by the door is not a return process. It's a hope. Run the Outstanding report and you know who still has what before the pile ever shows up. #SidelineHQ #AthleticDirector

Helmet #47 Every program has a helmet #47. Not lost, exactly. Just unaccounted for until May. SidelineHQ logs who has it, which coach issued it, and when. May stops being a surprise. #SidelineHQ #HSFootball

How do you track your gear?? This was on our whiteboard at THSCA. Coaches laughed. ADs laughed a little less. Which box is your program? #SidelineHQ #TXHSFB

We can help, at least with equipment management and tracking!
High school athletic directors occupy one of the most demanding, and rewarding, leadership positions in education. On any given day, they’re expected to be administrators, event managers, marketers, fundraisers, compliance officers, transportation coordinators, counselors, conflict mediators, and public relations specialists. Then, when the lights come on Friday night, they’re simply expected to make sure everything runs flawlessly. It’s a role that’s often misunderstood because the most important work happens behind the scenes. If everything goes according to plan, no one notices. If one small detail falls through the cracks, everyone does. The hurdles are real. Athletic directors constantly balance limited budgets against growing expectations. Facilities need repairs. Equipment wears out. Officials are becoming harder to recruit. Transportation costs continue to rise. State association regulations evolve. Every year seems to bring more responsibility without additional resources. Then there are the people. Every coach wants more opportunities for their program. Every parent wants what’s best for their child. Every booster group has ideas. Every principal has priorities. Every student-athlete deserves an exceptional experience. The challenge isn’t deciding who is right. The challenge is finding a way to serve everyone while understanding that not every request can become reality. Communication may be the single most valuable skill an athletic director possesses. One schedule change can affect multiple schools, officials, transportation departments, custodians, coaches, families, and hundreds of student-athletes. A weather delay can reshape an entire week. One misunderstood email can create unnecessary conflict that takes days to resolve. Great athletic directors understand that overcommunicating is almost always better than undercommunicating. Perhaps the greatest challenge is that athletic directors are often evaluated by outcomes they control the least. They don’t coach the games. They don’t make the shots. They don’t score the touchdowns. Yet when things go wrong, the athletic department is often the first place people look for answers. Despite all of that, few careers offer the rewards this profession does. You watch nervous freshmen become confident seniors. You see struggling students find purpose through athletics. You hire coaches who influence lives far beyond the playing field. You build cultures and traditions that continue long after you’ve moved on. The best athletic directors know that banners eventually collect dust, trophies become decorations, and records are eventually broken. What lasts are the relationships. It’s the former athlete who returns years later to introduce you to their family. It’s the coach who tells you your support helped them through a difficult season. It’s the parent who thanks you not because their child won, but because their child grew. The hours are long. The criticism can be loud. The responsibility is constant. But somewhere in the middle of the chaos, athletic directors help shape students into better and/or more well rounded leaders, teammates, and people . There are few callings more meaningful than that.

And we can help you track them 🤣
Somewhere in America 1) a kid is prepared to lie about these being stolen 2) a ref is eager to throw a flag for thinking they’re not being worn 3) a coach is losing his mind over both 1 & 2 4) the pad itself, at its current production size, is not saving a single knee

Serialized helmets for 120+ kids in one session. How long? Coach @fears_coach: "They walk in, I check their helmet, type in the number, it pops up on the app, issue it to the kid, they're out the door. Helmets might've taken forty-five minutes for all those kids." #SidelineHQ

When the head coach asks "what do we need, what do we have?" — Coach @fears_coach has the answer on the spot: "I can give a quick answer immediately... it's a lot less legwork and a lot less thinking once you get everything input." #SidelineHQ
