Stop and take a beat where the air is sweet! Screen time can be a way to laugh, learn, and connect, but it can also leave us feeling anxious or distracted. Paying attention to our bodies and minds can help us make mindful choices, and know when it's time to take a break. #DigitalWellBeing

Things teachers want to say to parents…
-Take the phone away at night. Your kid isn’t getting enough sleep.
-Don’t believe everything your kid says. They lie…A LOT!
-Teach your kid to have some grit.
•Model kind actions.
-Stop blaming everyone for your kid’s issues.

I’m literally begging y’all to care about your child’s education. Check their folder daily. Check their grades. Communicate with the teacher. No one prepared me for the lack of parent interest. Ridiculous.

It is that type of interaction (that you had with your student) that keeps kids wanting to come back to a classroom where they feel heard, and appreciated. It’s sad that it wasn’t seen for what it was, and there was no desire for growth on the part of the admin.

If you are okay with having Muslim, Jewish and Hindu students sit through a Christian prayer in public school, and not okay with having Christian students sit through a Muslim, Jewish or Hindu prayer, then it’s NOT religious freedom- it’s religious oppression.

Sometimes, it’s okay to feel sad, and that’s where I am right now. Hoping this artwork resonates with anyone who might be feeling the same. Let’s remember: all feelings are valid, and it’s okay to honor them. 💙

I am astounded at how some of my students speak to their parents.
How did we get here? 😔
