i moved to treasure island (a random little island in SF) & i love it so much here! 🏝️
the island is half way between SF & Oakland and it has the best view of SF
i live in a brand new, 1bd 750 sqft, luxury apartment for $4k / month
a building this new and nice in SF doesn't exist and if it did it would likely cost ~$6k / month.
there's a 7 min ferry to the ferry building, a 24/7 bus route, and compared to living in Oakland, you get to cut half the bay bridge if you're driving.
and the views of SF with the bay bridge and golden gate in the background inspire me everyday to build beautiful things 🚀
brief history on the island:
- treasure island was man made in 1936
- it was owned by the US Navy until 2010, when it sold the island to the city
⁃ since 2016, it has been undergoing a massive redevelopment project. still a long way to go but they’re doing a great job!

Happy 4th of July! On July 4th, due to the planned Golden Gate Bridge closure, ongoing construction, and redevelopment, traffic on Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands will be severely impacted, potentially causing congestion on the Bay Bridge.

The traffic collision on Treasure Island at Macalla Road between Yerba Buena Loop and Treasure Island Road has been resolved. The roadway is now open and traffic has resumed. There may be residual delays. Check transit schedules for real time updates.

Reminder: The TIDA Board is hosting their biannual on island board meeting tonight at the Treasure Island YMCA! Join us at 5:30pm for the open house and poster session. The board meeting starts at 6:30pm.
Traffic Advisory: Installation of the Bay Bridge Holiday Wreath will take place on Friday November 14th at 10pm to Saturday November 15th at 4am.
The Yerba Buena Island On Ramp to Westbound I-80 toward SF and multiple westbound lanes will be closed during the installation.
