I think I first met Alan Yentob when he came over from the BBC to interview me for an episode of ARENA titled “I Thought I Was Taller: A Short History of Mel Brooks” around 1980. He was so bright and warm and engaging, I immediately knew I had found an important friend. From that day to the day he died, he was in my life and I was in his. When my wife Anne died and I was lost in a sea of misery he kept me afloat with his love and never-failing good humor. Impossible to think he won’t be calling me tomorrow.

just a random thought to #filmmakers - do we need more films about conflict - or reconciliation? - seems like "plot" is always taught to require a conflict - maybe a resolution. What if plot could have other options? My fav film is "Being There". I need to watch it again.
