This is panic. Parents are realising that the #send proposals look bleak. And children are already struggling. So you see an explosion of #ehcp
I do take issue with a lot of the comments / summaries included in this article, many are inaccurate

I am SURE that it was a total accident that the DfE quietly released, the day before GCSE resuts day, a research paper that undermined the narrative behind the #send reform proposals

Over the next 38 days we need to get 1743 new signatures every day , it’s not impossible- in the last 24 hours it has gone up by 900 signatures. Please keep sharing and asking , it doesn’t have to be a send parent that signs it , it can be signed by any UK citizen

Another way of putting it; in spite of looming demands, a lack of support, total lack of faith in their department within GOV, teachers are still doing their best for pupils.
