For Earth Day 2026🌎, @SEEC hosted a “Federal Fire, Local Heat” emergency strategy session to convene members of Congress, climate leaders, organizers, & change-makers at the front lines of the climate fight. This is a key moment to align priorities in the midst of the Trump Administration's attacks on the health and well-being of our families, corrupt attempts to deliver for polluters over people, & blatant efforts to override American democracy.

Atlantic menhaden are often called the most important fish in the sea – and for good reason! These nutrient-rich fish are critical to our coastal communities, our economy, other wildlife, and the Chesapeake Bay. That’s why @ChrisVanHollen and I led our colleagues in urging the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission to prioritize science-based approaches to support and protect the menhaden population in the Bay and all those who rely on it. Transportation makes up the largest source of harmful greenhouse gas emission in the Nation. In his climate denial and quest to serve Big Oil Billionaires, Trump rolled back our clean car standards. His destruction will cost Americans more at the pump and make our summers even hotter.

As extreme weather becomes more frequent, too many Americans can't get the insurance coverage they need to recover.
Proud to introduce the Community Disaster Protection Act alongside @SEEC and @CongressMin to make disaster protection more affordable for high-risk communities.
Trump promised to halve energy costs, but now we're locked into paying a whopping $6,500 more per household over the next 2 decades. Trump really meant it when he said he didn’t care about our financial situations. And it’s even worse for states that voted for him!
Living our everyday lives, keeping our lights on at home, getting to and from work shouldn’t be crippling our pocketbooks. Find out how much more your family and community will have to pay thanks to Trump's reckless energy policies here: energyinnovation.org/report/…
Today, SEEC's Building Resilient Housing Task Force Co-Chairs @CongressMin & @RepJohnnyO introduced the Community Disaster Protection Act, which will help create new disaster insurance products to ensure high-risk communities can access affordable coverage in America.

A collective bargaining agreement is a contract. The EPA can't just tear this up and ignore workers.
As @AFGENational fights back in court, I'm standing with federal workers and their right to collectively bargain.

Fuel efficiency standards for our vehicles mean dollars saved at the gas pump for American households. By significantly weakening federal mileage standards, our families and communities are being forced to drive less efficient and more polluting vehicles for decades to come.

Our public lands belong to all of us. On National Public Lands Day, we celebrate our parks, forests, trails, and public spaces and recommit ourselves to protecting them.
As Co-Chair of @SEEC, I'm fighting to make sure we continue investing in conservation, so we can share our public lands with the next generation.

Climate change does not stop at our borders, and neither can our response.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres this week to talk about climate action, clean energy, and how Congress can help sustain American leadership abroad.
The challenges we face are global, and our leadership should be too. There is simply too much at stake for America to sit back while the rest of the world decides what comes next.

Innovations in disaster mitigation can save lives, but emergency responders and communities in crisis need data they can actually use. Preventing the next wildfire and keeping Oregonians safe requires coordination and clear information at every level.

Here at the United Nations earlier today wrapping up a meeting with the UN Secretary-General and our Congressional Delegation on the continued need for U.S. leadership on climate action and our commitment to our communities.
Proud to be here representing New Mexico and fighting for our future! ❤️

Recently, the Trump Administration announced it would loosen methane rules for oil and gas wells, rolling back protections that curb one of the most potent greenhouse gases we know of.
This is a step in entirely the wrong direction, at exactly the wrong moment. 🧵 (1/4)

This week is Climate Week in NYC and my first stop was spent talking about food waste. When we reduce food loss, we cut emissions, feed more people, and build stronger food systems. I was grateful to join @FoodTank, @RepDexterOR , @Rep_Stansbury, @RepSalinas, and leaders from across policy and business to talk about practical solutions.

Our national parks belong to all of us, and so do the tax dollars we spend to protect them.
And yet the Trump Administration has blocked at least $25 MILLION in funding for more than 130 projects.
To be clear, this wasn’t money they were still waiting on. We are talking about money that had already been secured for work at some of the most visited parks in the country.
Interior says the projects didn’t align with Administration priorities. But it hasn’t explained why the money was rejected or where it’s going instead.
Our parks need maintenance, they need wildfire protection, and they need people doing the work that keeps them safe and open for your next visit. Everything about this goes against that and the law.
