Everything Old is New Again!
Got something fresh in the queue for Silk City in Philly, a rework of a thing we first designed more than a decade ago.
We’ve hit the point in our journey where we’re starting to redesign our own work.

Finally got my hands on some of the new Hex Jerky packaging we’ve been working on for a while at SEDSO!
The design is cool and all, but the beef jerky is next level. 100% grass-fed beef and super clean ingredients only.
Shipping throughout the US.
Jerky subscriptions coming soon…

Received some test samples this week for the wine labels we’ve been working on for Blind Fox Vineyard.
Combined printed elements with a ‘blind’ emboss and deboss on textured eggshell label paper.
It’s starting to feel real!

Looks like we're going this direction for the Blind Fox Vineyard landing page.
Got great feedback from them and we'll be moving this design over to development next week.

Authentic timelessness...
We're crafting some landing page designs at @SEDSODESIGN as part of the brand work for Blind Fox Vineyard coming to Bucks County, PA.
(more on that soon)
Two color ways from an option we presented first round.
To be refined further...
Up and at 'em...
Some more pieces of the signage are coming back and getting ready for install at Sunrise Tequila Bar.
Another look at the simple way we share design intent with a signage fabricator.
We were hoping to use sidelit letters with actual metal for the faces of each letter, but timeline and budget limitations called for an audible. Sometimes we have to compromise.
This was hand-painted with gold paint and horizontal brush strokes to mimic the brushed gold metal look.

One of the few times we’ll make the logo bigger…
When the logo becomes a large scale mural!
We're working on some signage at @SEDSODESIGN as part of our latest brand work for Sunrise Tequila Bar & Rooftop Lounge in Margate City, NJ. (More on that soon)
Turning the new sunrise graphic mark into a large scale mural cut from gold brushed metal, pin-mounted in a big green space on the exterior of the building — roughly 17 x 10 ft!
Here's a glimpse into the basic process of how we pass design intent along to a signage vendor to talk through the fabrication strategy.
One of the few times we'll...
MAKE THE LOGO BIGGER!

The digital menu displays for Sonny's will be installed in front of the hood above the cheesesteaks & burgers being cooked
It's a big stainless steel kitchen hood that we'd like to 'neutralize' w/ some sort of constructed background
Considering basic painted woodwork backers...

Illustrations are used at various touch-points in Black Cactus' brand & fall within a line-drawing style using vector graphics created as outlines w/ varied line weights & no shading.
Here's a sampling from the library of artwork that was created at SEDSO #wearentillustrators

Too coincidental not to share!
Within just a few minutes of posting about current work we’re doing with Sonny’s, an old project that we did for them a few years ago drove right past me.

Working out some type lock-ups for sidebars on the digital menu boards we're designing for Sonny's in Philly.
Next step will be adding some motion to the typography overlayed with video clips of staticky vintage TV grain to bring things to life.
Messing around with the design of these digital menu boards for Sonny’s.
Got the 3 - 55” TVs up and running, each with a Screenray from @TryRaydiant
Controlling content for each screen through the Raydiant dashboard.
Next step, add some motion somehow…

CREATIVE STRATEGY
Define the brand
Establish the objectives of the brand
Determine the target audience
Analyze the challenges the brand faces
Separate from industry competitors
Develop outlets to connect with the customer
A sampling of the illustration work we have been messing with for Black Cactus, a coastal Mexican-inspired restaurant down the shore in Avalon, NJ.

Visual Identity work for a Philly-based café & cocktail bar that had multiple locations throughout the city.
The Captain's Wall was an installation concept for Bait & Switch, a seafood bar in Philly.
They wanted to do something fun on an open wall so we found a bunch of old frames and filled them with the most historic, well-know captains.
Who's your favorite captain on the wall?
New menus for The Franklin up in Rhode Island in the works…
Look, jerky, I don't need to talk to you!
You don't need to talk to me?
(angrily) Get Brett Weir I said!
Hold on.
