Accelerating the Digital Transformation of Pakistan’s Insurance Sector
The SECP Talk Series brought together industry leaders to discuss the growth, digitalization and future of Pakistan’s insurance market.
Chairman SECP, Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, highlighted that while the industry has assets of around Rs4 trillion and annual premiums of Rs708 billion, insurance penetration remains only 0.7% of GDP. Moreover, just 0.85% of premiums are currently generated through digital channels.

• Ensure timely, transparent and fair settlement of claims
• Expand third-party motor insurance through digital verification
• Establish the “Insured Pakistan” digital platform
• Encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
The session featured Muhammad Aminuddin, CEO TPL Insurance; Shoaib Javed Hussain, CEO State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan; and Mohammed Ali Ahmed, CEO EFU Life Assurance.
The discussion underscored the enormous potential of digitalization, retirement solutions and technology-driven products to expand insurance coverage, strengthen consumer protection and mobilize long-term capital for Pakistan’s economy.
