A true pleasure to meet PM Anutin Charnvirakul again as I accompany @ParmelinG on his economic mission to 🇹🇭. During my tenure as former🇨🇭Ambassador to 🇹🇭, I enjoyed a strong working relation with His Excellency Khun Anutin, then Public Health Minister during the pandemic.
Hello Thailand! 🇹🇭 Delighted to meet Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on my first visit to the Land of Smiles. We discussed our free trade agreement and the geopolitical situation as we celebrate 95 years of diplomatic relations. Thank you for the warm welcome to me and our economic delegation 🙏🏻

Today marks one year since the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) came into force. 🇮🇳🇨🇭🇱🇮🇮🇸🇳🇴 The Agreement marks an important milestone in India's economic engagement with EFTA nations, which have committed to promoting USD 100 billion in investments in India over the next 15 years, helping create 1 million direct jobs. This will support greater investment, strengthen our manufacturing and services sectors and contribute to sustainable economic growth. TEPA provides market access on 92.2% of tariff lines covering 99.6% of India's exports, including 100% of non-agricultural products, while India has safeguarded sensitive sectors such as dairy, soya, coal and sensitive agricultural products. A notable outcome is that India's exports of motor cars and other motor vehicles, heavy waters and moulding patterns have grown significantly since the implementation of TEPA. This is just the beginning. As we celebrate one year of TEPA, the Agreement is opening new avenues for Indian businesses across sectors, strengthening opportunities for our exporters, and paving the way for mutual growth & prosperity.
