He wanted to be PM in order to be PM. He didn’t expect there to be work. His narcissism persuaded him we would all love living under him & laughing at his ‘jokes’. He was a perfect, one-man argument for the abolition of Eton.
This man and his lackey Hancock have been found guilty of killing thousands of older people living in care homes and lying to the public time and again. They should be arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned posthaste.

Goodness me, the tweet below: you really couldn't make this up. I say that having fact-checked the research reports Ofsted put out during AS's time there. (Research appeared not just to have been cherry-picked, but to have misrepresented sources, eg: schoolsweek.co.uk/ofsted-mat…)
England is forgetting that education policy should be based on evidence and informed by experience - my first Substack piece amvspielman.substack.com/p/g…

The child is the starting point for education. Ignoring the barriers some children face doesn't make inspection tougher. It just allows people to look at schools serving the most advantaged communities, mistake advantage for excellence, and congratulate themselves on their rigour

Irony: the Spectator is edited by he who brought in the curriculum that has helped to put children off reading for pleasure.
The real reason children no longer enjoy reading.” Mary Wakefield has a theory in the latest Spectator.  Instead of screen addiction, she blames school curricula which teach “to the test” rather than reading for enjoyment. Children are so busy analysing brief extracts, they can’t enjoy the book as a whole. I read incessantly as a child, including illicitly when I was supposed to be sleeping. Not “great literature”, it was Dr Dolittle, Biggles, Bulldog Drummond, Just William, Arthur Ransome, Percy F Westerman. It would certainly have included Harry Potter if he’d been around then. I don’t believe I ever had my “comprehension” tested. I just loved reading. Is Mary Wakefield right?

Having looked at whether I am a good thing, my extensive research into myself has concluded that I am, in fact, a good thing.

Exclusive: Schools with a higher proportion of pupils with SEND are more likely to get lower grades across all of Ofsted's main evaluation areas, including inclusion – with experts warning it points to ‘serious flaws’ in the framework tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

During lockdown @vicgoddard did incredible things to support his students and wider community Meanwhile Gove was dolling out tax payers money to the "VIP lane"
Important to play ball not man. On day that England’s maths success is recognised worth considering the Progress 8 score at @vicgoddard’s flagship school Passmores Academy - students there are not being given the opportunities they deserve

The HT who said should she would “always believe the teacher over the child” lauds the ‘journalist’ who said he couldn’t be a teacher because he would want to shag the kids. Appalling from anyone but doubly so from a HT - massive red flag 🚩

I see a lot of people defending the late Rod Liddle’s long list of racist, bigoted, misogynistic remarks by saying he was a ‘provocateur’, he was a free speech champion. These are the same people who are totally fine not just with smearing little old ladies and priests at pro-Palestine demos as antisemites but also with the British state literally arresting them on terrorism charges. Free speech! Right to offend! Oh… wait.

The long shadow of his reforms still acts as a blight on what genuinely inclusive education should be. I have my own reservations about how this announcement will play out but seeing Gove so opposed to it has heartened me that it must be the right approach.
Absolutely correct. The NEET tragedy is a problem of labour market inflexibility, higher costs and a welfare system that incentivises learned helplessness
