Computer Science @ Simpson College

Maybe the instructors are more excited than students, but the Spring semester has begun! Welcome back, @SimpsonCollege students! #ONESimpson

Congratulations to our @SimpsonCollege students who graduated at the end of the Fall semester! #ONESimpson

And, when the learning management system comes back online! Thank you IT Department! #ONESimpson

When your learning management system goes down in the middle of grading final assignments... And, of course, thank you to the IT Department for working on it!

We would like to wish all of our @SimpsonCollege students good luck on their final exams, projects, and assignments this week!

Roy L. Clay, Sr. was a key figure at HP (mid-1960's) in developing their computer division with the 2116A computer. In 2003, he was inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council's Hall of Fame. #ONESimpson

Dr. Evelyn Boyd Granville was the 2nd black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Yale University and worked at IBM to contribute to different space programs as a computer scientist, later becoming a math professor at various universities. @SimpsonCollMath #ONESimpson

In celebration of Black History Month, we would like to show our appreciation to Dorothy Vaughan, mathematician and 'human computer' who taught herself and her staff Fortran to help introduce computers in the 1960s at NASA. #ONESimpson

In honor of Black History Month, let us highlight Katherine Johnson, who started with the West Area Computing Section at Langely (which would become part of NASA) in 1952. She went on to provide calculations for the orbital flights in the 1960s. @SimpsonCollMath #ONESimpson

It's Friday, @SimpsonCollege students! Almost finished with the first week of the Spring semester! Enjoy the weekend and stay safe and healthy! #ONESimpson
