On October 21, with approval from the Chinese side, the Philippines delivered living necessities to its ship illegally “grounded” at China’s Ren’ai Jiao. The China Coast Guard (CCG) inquired and verified the Philippine vessel conducting the delivery, and monitored the whole process.
The CCG will continue to conduct law-enforcement and rights-protection operations in China’s Nansha Qundao and its adjacent waters, including Ren’ai Jiao, in accordance with the law.

China, ROK maritime authorities hold joint patrol to maintain fishing order
China and the Republic of Korea conducted a joint maritime law enforcement patrol from Oct 8 to 17 to maintain fishing order and strengthen cooperation, according to the China Coast Guard.
The China Coast Guard vessel Changshan and the ROK fisheries inspection vessel Mugunghwa 42 patrolled the provisional measures zone designated under the China-ROK fisheries agreement.
The patrol lasted more than 210 hours and covered over 1,200 nautical miles. Personnel from both countries observed and recorded the activities of 123 fishing vessels, issued verbal reminders and guidance to 74, and boarded three for inspections. Fishing operations in the patrolled waters were generally orderly, the coast guard said.
The coast guard described the patrol as a practical step in implementing the bilateral fisheries agreement. It said the operation strengthened exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' maritime law enforcement agencies and their joint management of fishing vessels operating in the zone, supporting efforts to combat illegal fishing, maintain fishing order and conserve marine fishery resources.
The China Coast Guard said it would continue to strengthen professional exchanges and practical cooperation with ROK maritime law enforcement agencies, enhance mutual understanding and jointly protect fishery resources in the Yellow Sea.

Director Hu Bo's comment on Oct.8 in Hanio: DOC/COC is a mechanism of“10+1”instead of ASEAN plus China. Moreover, China is one of six claimants, not too special. As to the SCS issues, China should be treated equally based on the truth and facts, rather be given excessive attention and demands just because China is a great power.

84 Years of Friendship:
On October 10, 2026, six representatives of descendants of the Doolittle Raid participants visited Shangrao, east China's Jiangxi Province, to view a historical exhibition, revisit rescue sites and pay tribute to the Chinese people who rescued American airmen 84 years ago.
The Doolittle Raid, planned and led by U.S. Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle on April 18, 1942, was an air raid on Japan as a retaliation for the attack on the U.S. Pearl Harbor.
After the raid, 15 planes heading for an airport in Quzhou ran out of fuel and crashed in various localities in east China.
Chinese villagers risked their lives to rescue the parachuting airmen and helped them evacuate to safety. Of the 75 airmen aboard the planes, 64 were rescued by the Chinese people. However, many locals were suspected of sheltering the Americans, and some were tortured or even killed by Japanese soldiers.
In China, the Doolittle story has long been regarded as a symbol of the friendship forged between the Chinese and American peoples during their joint fight against fascism.

Senior Captain Zhai Shichen, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command (STC):on October 3, a Philippine C-208 aircraft illegally intruded into the territorial airspace over China’s Huangyan Dao without approval from the Chinese government. The naval and air forces dispatched by the PLA STC tracked and monitored the Philippine aircraft, and issued warnings to expel it in accordance with laws and regulations. Huangyan Dao is China’s inherent territory. The acts by the Philippine side seriously violate China’s sovereignty and are highly likely to cause unintended maritime and air incidents. We sternly warn the Philippine side to stop rights-violation and provocative acts immediately. Forces of the STC remain on high alert at all times to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and security as well as regional peace and stability.

1. China has sovereignty over Nansha Qundao, including Zhongye Dao and Tiexian Jiao, and their adjacent waters, as well as sovereign rights and jurisdiction over relevant waters. Chinese coast guard vessels conduct patrol and law enforcement operations in waters under China’s jurisdiction in accordance with the law, consistent with international law, including the UNCLOS. China firmly opposes any actions taken by the Philippines based on its unilateral claims and will continue to take resolute measures to safeguard China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
2. China attaches great importance to protecting the marine ecological environment and fishery resources in the South China Sea, and firmly opposes and cracks down hard on illegal fishing activities such as blast fishing and the use of poison to catch fish. The fishing vessel accused by the Philippines of engaging in destructive fishing is not Chinese vessel. The Philippines first obstructed the lawful enforcement activities of the Chinese law enforcement vessel and then deliberately withheld key information to mislead public opinion. This constitutes a deliberate provocation against and smear attack on China.
3. Recently, Philippine military and law enforcement vessels have repeatedly created incidents at sea and engaged in extensive publicity and hype, undermining China-Philippines relations and peace and stability in the South China Sea. China has responded forcefully. Their attempts will not succeed.

Many in the US slam Trump’s grand reception of Xi as unreciprocal. But nitpicking protocol is pointless. China gave Trump a "State Visit+" in 2017, plus another state visit this May. This is actually Xi’s first state visit since 2015. True confidence doesn't obsess over symbols.

We strongly condemn the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines’ disregard for right and wrong and its insistence on supporting the Philippines’ provocative and unlawful actions at Ren’ai Reef in China’s Nansha Qundao.
On September 24, the Philippines breached its commitments and, disregarding China’s warnings, went ahead with dispatching a resupply vessel to provide supplies to the Philippine vessel illegally “grounded” at Ren’ai Jiao. China Coast Guard, in accordance with the law, took measures including on-site monitoring and following, as well as issuing verbal warnings to the Philippine resupply vessel. The Philippines’ provocative actions and its subsequent hype and publicity during a traditional Chinese festival seriously violated the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC) and severely undermined peace and stability in the South China Sea region.
China urges the U.S. side to stop fanning the flames and refrain from actions that undermine regional peace and stability.

This is a typical anti-China narrative hype pattern: provoke, film, distort, amplify.
First, enter disputed waters under the pretext of “protecting fishermen.”
Second, carry out dangerous maneuvers to provoke a Chinese law-enforcement response.
Third, selectively film the encounter to portray China as the aggressor.
Fourth, amplify the footage through an anti-China media campaign.
The end goal: fuel confrontation and damage China-Philippines relations.

If you care to know what really happened here, it was actually a mistake by the organizers of the event - the Seoul Defense Dialogue hosted by South Korea's Ministry of National Defense.
And this is according to Yonhap, South Korea's national news agency (koreancenter.or.kr/news/arti…) so you can't possibly have a more authoritative source.
As they write, the note was given to the organizers of the event by a military attaché at the Chinese Embassy in South Korea but it was never meant to be delivered to Teodoro on stage.
Direct quote from Yonhap's reporting, translated from the original korean: "the staff member [who received the note] misunderstood it as a note delivered from the Philippine side and handed it as-is to Minister Teodoro who was speaking on stage."
So there you are: a mistake by a Korean staffer.
What I suspect did happen is the most banal thing imaginable: a Chinese embassy staffer stationed in Seoul, attending a forum held in his own city, heard the Philippines making claims about the South China Sea that contradicted China's official position, and he simply did the job of embassy staff: re-stating his country's standard position and asking a conference staffer to pass it to the Philippine side.
The note isn't even addressed to Teodoro, it's not addressed to anyone, it's just a boilerplate statement that restates China's public position on the matter.
This is the type of stuff that happens all the time: breaking news, the job of an embassy is to make sure your country's position is on the record when it's being discussed. That's not "intimidation" or "wolf warrior diplomacy," that's just diplomacy.
In this case, the only reason we hear about it is because a Korean staffer delivered it to the wrong place at the wrong time, and also, of course, because the media are all too ready to frame anything China does - including a staffer's routine note being misdelivered by a Korean employee, as acknowledged by Korea's news agency - as sinister, because that's what the narrative demands.

WATCH: A Chinese military attaché passed a note to the Philippine Defense Secretary while he was speaking at a Seoul defense forum — restating that the 2016 South China Sea ruling is "illegal, null and void."
Teodoro read it aloud to the room, then responded line by line.
On "no binding force": "Because you don't want to be subjected to UNCLOS."
On China not accepting the ruling: "Of course, because you lost."
In Filipino he added: "Show a little decency, have a little shame."
The audience applauded.
He called it "actual coercion, bullying and aggression" and kept the note as a "memento."
