“Health and social care in Scotland is currently made up of multiple legacy systems and governance structures. We need a joined up approach to get clinical data safely, at the right place and at the right time”. Associate Director for Data, Steve Pavis @ndsscotland

I love it when people say FHIR resources are analogous to openEHR archetypes. #Nope. And that's the principal reason why the AllergyIntolerance resource should be banned. It's an outlier.

Intern referral cheat sheet! Thanks to everyone from #medtwitter who offered suggestions to help me put this together. Have given to a couple of interns to trial this week after approval from some local registrars. #meded #tipsfornewdocs

The key message is this work was drawn from best practice from around the world and is implemented in eprescribing systems in both community and hospital settings with full support for complex meds and dosages. – at Kettering, England
While what you say seems logical but lots of very smart people have chosen SQL databases for openEHR. Probably the state of the tech/market at the time they made that decision. One of the great things about openEHR is it technology agnostic
There are many vendors of DocumentDB's, and if you think it is wise to mimic a documentdb and path-based-queries in a rdbms, be my guest, but I cannot say that that is a smart thing to do. BTW, Oracle has a document-db included in their 12c-suite.

We leave that to very smart people like you @ppazos so app devs just work with a vendor and technology agnostic API #awesome as the young people say – at Hackney, London
Replying to @jfb74 @WoodcoteEwan
Remember the #openEHR information model is not an data storage structure. We need to transform it for implementations on an specific technology, and at the same time design our data storage structure considering specific requirements of data storage and retrieval.

The Head of Astronomy at Harvard asserting that Oumuamua was a non-human solar sail. Great read that reflects on both (1) the lack of academic freedom with which most scientists work (2) further evidence that we haven't passed the Great Filter yet haaretz.com/us-news/.premium…

I’d like to say a few things about @NHSGrampian . I don’t normally tweet about my employer, for obvious reasons, but in the last 24 hours, I have been a relative of a patient, and not an employee, and the experience has been top class.

Looking at the great #RealisticMedicine page on @NHSHighland intranet @DrRHelliwell Lots of great information and resources. Well done! @RealisticMed
What we should have: a universal health content model library. What the message people always do: impose their own content 'standard' rather than cooperate with mature approaches to modelling. What we get: dissonance. wolandscat.net/2017/01/29/fh…

We have published a paper that examines morbidity and mortality in those who miss GP appointments. Need to find solutions to help (often very vulnerable) people feel engaged with primary healthcare, especially in mental health @aewilliamsonl @davidaellis bit.ly/2D4ZJqt

You know those costly, time-wasting patients who DNA? They're dying from a lack of care. We need more creative, compassionate responses. More proactive care

Healthcare systems are designed by the healthy, and so often silently assume that all can relate to care dynamics in anxiety free ways. However, for many who have experienced trauma and adversity, care, of any type, can be the most frightening thing in the world. #traumainformed

"Universal": the de facto standard for clinical model content is to be openly published. So huge thanks to "Dr Graeme Finlayson & Dr Subha Thiyagesh who shared their existing protocols on which this application is based"
Example of a community dementia assessment built on those universal content models. ckm.apperta.org/ckm/#showTem… And app now in production. Can we get it up on the NHS Scotland digital platform?
