Keith Allen was a leader in Dillon County who dedicated much of his life to advocating for South Carolina’s agricultural community. I join his loved ones in mourning his passing, and lift his daughters, Kate and Karen, and his beloved wife, Libby, in prayer.
Over the years, Keith was a trusted partner in helping me understand how I could best serve the farmers and ranchers in the Grand Strand & the Pee Dee. I am deeply grateful for his friendship and will miss him dearly.

The President’s plan to facilitate record imports of beef will have a significant impact on farmers and ranchers who are rebuilding their herds devastated by droughts.
Allowing 300,000 metric tons—equivalent to more than 660 million pounds—of foreign beef into the United States at a 25% discount “below market prices” will undermine America’s ranchers who work tirelessly to grow food for American families.
We urge the President to reconsider his plan to flood the market with foreign beef.
“SCFB is disappointed by proposals to increase foreign beef imports. We support efforts to keep food affordable, but those efforts should strengthen, not undermine, American farmers and ranchers.”- Harry Ott, SCFB President

New survey data shows that 75% of South Carolina farmers cannot afford all the fertilizer they need in 2026.
When farmers can’t afford inputs➡️acres may go unplanted, yields may decline & farmers may not be able to continue farming next year.

On #NationalAgDay and every day, we’re proud to stand up with and for farmers, ranchers, and rural communities as we work together to build a sustainable future for agriculture.
Agriculture is South Carolina’s #1 industry, contributing more than $50 billion to our state’s economy each year. Agriculture connects us all.
Every meal, every fiber, every fuel –
It all starts with agriculture.
Happy National Ag Day.🌱🚜 #AgDay26

Thank you to the SC House of Representatives for passing H.5097 today 106-0. This bill will make it easier for our farmers to build and operate roadside stands on their farms to provide local produce in their communities.🍅🌽 #localproduce
Last week, 13 students who attended SCFB’s 2025 Youth Leadership Conference joined us at the State House. These students are the future of agriculture and we’re proud to call them our #SCFBFarmersoftheWeek!
This #PresidentsDay, we honor the leaders who’ve shaped our nation & the farmers who keep it running. America was built on agriculture & in SC that legacy is still strong. Farmers don’t just grow crops. They grow freedom, food security and economic strength.🇺🇸 #FarmersFeedAmerica
SCFB applauds @EPA for working diligently to provide a science-based label for OTT Dicamba in cotton & soybeans for the 2026 & 2027 growing seasons. This technology is a vital tool for farmers facing tight margins and low commodity prices.
As South Carolina cotton & soy farmers prepare for the 2026 season, SC Farm Bureau urges the @EPA to finalize the OTT Dicamba label. Resistant weeds drive up costs & pressure yields. Finalizing this label would provide needed certainty as farmers face ongoing economic strain.
Our #SCFBFarmeroftheWeek program is back for 2026! Our team welcomed Brad & Tyler O’Neal of Coosaw Farms, a third-generation farm in the Lowcountry that specializes in blueberries & watermelons, to the State House. The O’Neals are outstanding representative of SC farm families!
