Executive Director William Floyd, Regional Workforce Advisor (RWA) Stacey McKinney, and Senior Business Services Consultant Ryan Collins, recently traveled to Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) to celebrate ReWa as the 2026 Greenville Workforce Champion Finalist. During the visit, Stacey spoke about the impact ReWa is making in their community through educator engagement and student educational opportunities, while ReWa amplified this message by sharing their intentionality around secondary and post-secondary career exploration options and the importance of hands-on learning in developing future career paths. ReWa was selected as the Workforce Champion finalist in the Greenville region for: ✅Expanding student outreach through one or more initiatives, including their ReWa Scholars Program, Lunch and Learn program, and paid internships and apprenticeships, ✅Establishing a high school dual credit program, ReWa ambassador program, sponsoring career fairs, and providing soft skill training, ✅And more! The 2026 @esteamsumter Festival was an amazing opportunity for youth interested in STEAM-related careers!🎉⚛️📐🎨 Our recap video features Regional Workforce Advisor (RWA) Brenda Gardner, @Honda Business Operations Manager Ron Freed, and Senior Business Services Consultant Julie Smith, discussing the excitement surrounding the 2026 eSTEAM Sumter Festival and the wonderful opportunity this event provides youth, opening up their eyes to the countless STEAM-related job opportunities with fun, interactive activities from employers. DEW is happy to report the success of this year's event with: ✅an attendance of nearly 7,000 people, ✅a total of 89 participating exhibitors, ✅and 16 food vendors, a stage show, and a parade with 23 exciting units that provided even more fun to the eSTEAM Sumter Festival!
