Halo was never, and has never been a top 5 fps. console boys that never played a pc game were obsessed with it.
I had been playing counterstrike for years, when i got to college people were obsessed with halo and playing 4 on 4 on a LAN. I couldn't figure out the big deal.

No, it's not. Helicopter parenting is why. My kids are almost 9 and 10 and for the majority of their lives "play dates" involved adults co mingling too. Birthday party at urban air, can't drop the kids off, adults have to stay.
It's honestly kind of ridiculous. Kids get almost no kid on kid time alone. And God forbid you let your kids just... do something on their own, you might get CPS called on you.
