Great as it is, we shouldn't let Assyrtiko overshadow Greece's other interesting white grapes. @SBosinakis takes Mantinia Moschofilero to new a new level. #wineoftheweek joannasimon.com/post/wine-of… #Greekwine

The answer to this weeks #WineWednesday quiz is the lovely Moschofilero. Anything you might serve at high tea, including cucumber sandwiches, lox with cream cheese, or fruit tarts, pairs well with this wonderfully aromatic wine. What would you pair it with?

Wine Quiz Wednesday Time! A richly aromatic white wine that hails from the small region of Mantineia close to Tripoli in Peloponnese, Greece. The grape has pink skins and can be made into rosé. What’s your guess? (answer in the next tweet)

Some wine last night (2011 @leRicheWines reserve cabernet sauvignon was exceptional); headline act was five glorious litres of 1999 @MeerlustWine Rubicon, smooth, polished and perfectly timed. Merry Christmas!

Moschofilero is one of those wines where the aromas will deceive you: it smells sweetly of perfume, muscat grapes, and raw honey crystals but, upon tasting it, you’ll discover that it is bone-dry. Any other wines that have deceiving aromas?

Hey all, the Moschofilero white grape that hails from the small region of Mantíneia, close to Tripoli in Peloponnese, Greece. Spice, perfume, dry and great with grilled fish. Hadn't had a Greek wine in a while and, upon first sip, wonder why I don't drink them more often.
