Working some sites on Deerness this am, when pandemonium struck at ‘lighthouse quarry’. One of my @OrioleBirding group, Fiona Wright, whispers to me “I’ve got an owl, I think it’s a LEO”….
I have never been so shocked lifting my bins in all my life! F*@k me it’s a Scop’s!!

Fantastic news from the Beacon Lagoons Little Tern colony today.
The 100th Little Tern nest hatched!
It’s another fantastic milestone for Yorkshire’s only breeding colony of Little Terns and a testament to the dedication of our wardens, volunteers and project partners.

Just when you thought a @FI_Obs spring couldn’t get better, bumping into this Trumpeter Finch in the north of the isle certainly wasn’t on the cards! A mobile bird but showed well a couple of times. Stunner!

Saw these on the upper Humber last night between Alkborough and Whitton about 30 miles from the coast, took them to be Harbour Porpoises initially but from the vid grabs appear to be dolphins, but which species? Any help please, thanks.
