It’s a good day when it’s Project-Shoutin Day! I adore the complexity, humanity, and 90s and 2000s nostalgia of AGAIN. Stories that look at the messy marriage between love and grief are some of my favorites, and this beauty is no exception. I can’t wait for the world to read it!!

It's possible we're all taking the rage-inducing helplessness we feel out in the only way that feels acceptable—antagonizing strangers online—when the truth is we're all doing our best (and would do a whole lot better if we had a little more kindness).

It’s looking like MN will legalize recreational marijuana, and I want to throw on an anecdote about why this is so important. Medical marijuana is legal in MN, but only for certain conditions. I’ve had long COVID for a year, and one of my most nefarious symptoms is constant 1/
immediately half the time but also corrodes my liver than a drug with zero side effects that our government declared war on forty years ago so it could shut down Vietnam protests. (Go ahead and check out John Ehrlichman’s quote about why Nixon’s administration started to crack 5/
down if you haven’t already seen it 🙃) Anyway, the point here is that with the rapid rise of #longCOVID cases, THC may very well be a life raft when nothing else works, and we need to be supporting long haulers medically as best we can (because believe me, this shit sucks). FIN.
I’ve been waiting literal years to yell about this project, and now I can!! When Mason approached me with the concept of examining public martyrdom through a queer lens, I was 100% on board, and he did a beautiful job honoring Matthew Shepard’s story while building his own 🖤
Thanks to @SBLitAgent for getting my novel into the hands of @Thalia_Leaf at Calkins Creek, who understood immediately what I was trying to do, and why it mattered. So excited about everything that comes next! #kidlit
