Epic Games has delayed its upcoming Disney game, originally planned for March 2027, and is pushing developers to use AI for almost everything
- Developers have been told to use AI tools instead of writing code themselves.
- The team is being pushed to use AI throughout the art creation process.
- Some question whether AI can reliably fix its own mistakes.
- CEO Tim Sweeney says AI should help developers create more and better content.
“The aim isn’t to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff.”
Epic has laid off around 1,000 employees this year and now its focusing on AI
