After a few people suggested it, my family and I decided to give it a try to start a gofoundme.
Help us with a donation if you can. If you can't, share this post so it reaches people who can.
Thank you all for the messages and for your prayers.

Hello, everyone!
Things in the 🇺🇸 have been real bad with the way immigration entities has been conducting themselves. The immigrant community has been terrorized for almost two years now and, yesterday, it was my family’s turn to be hit by it: my sister was detained by 🧊.
She was taken into custody at their Houston office while she attended her regular check in. We last saw her at 8:00 AM. After a 90 minutes wait, we were “lucky” enough to get a call from her to inform us of her detention and to share the address of the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, TX, where she was then sent to. I call it luck because most people have to wait days to find where their family members were taken.
My sister is a Venezuelan national who was granted withholding of removal back in 2023. Instead of going through the appropriate channels to reopen her case and have a judge review it and lift her protections under changed country circumstances so they can send her back to our country legally, they are attempting to deport her to a third country. They even tried to make her sign a document accepting the terms of the deportation that didn’t even point out what country they wanted to her to. Just a few days ago, a flight full of deportees from that very detention center was sent to the Central African Republic without being given any notice and after being lied to (they told them they were being sent to Louisiana)—we fear she could meet the same fate.
My mom was on a brief call with her a few hours after she arrived at the processing center and my sister said she had declined to sign that blank third country deportation form and that the agent interviewing her had then proceeded to offer to send her back to Venezuela. ICE cannot do that because she has an order from a judge protecting her from it, so I believe she could be being lied to just as the other deportees were. I fear that under the guise of sending her to Venezuela, they could just put her in a flight to a country far away.
We are in the process of getting her a lawyer as fast as possible, but we don’t have a lot of resources since we’ve been living a few months of hardship after my work permit renewal was first frozen by a ban, then stuck in a back log which left me without employment for quite a while. We’ll fight anyway.
Please have her and my family in your prayers. And speak up for the immigrant community in this country, spread stuff like this around so our voices are heard. No human being deserves to be treated in such way.
