It's 25 years since @ILO Convention 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labour was adopted.
It's the first universally ratified ILO Convention, yet today 160 million children are in child labour.
The global community must act on its commitments and #EndChildLabour!

Eleven years ago, on 24th April 2013, at 9:00 am local time, Rana Plaza factory on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, collapsed. Over 1,100 people, mostly women garment workers, lost their lives in this horrifying event. 1/3
At the root of the #RanaPlaza tragedy is a system of exploitation. On this day, and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to fight for a redistribution of power. So that workers are never forced into unsafe conditions, into poverty pay, into criminalisation for taking a stand.
This is a day on which we remember and step back, but which also strengthens our commitment to fight for to take away all of the root causes of the tragedy of 11 years ago. #RanaPlazaNeverAgain cleanclothes.org/news/2024/r…

Strong message from Bangladesh ahead of tomorrow's @Europarl_EN vote on EU law on due diligence, same day as 11th anniversary of Rana Plaza factory collapse. Victims are calling for a YES vote which would hold large companies accountable for workers’ & human rights abuses.
