South Adams County Fire Department Unveils New Logo, Honoring Tradition While Looking Toward the Future! COMMERCE CITY, Colorado — September 14, 2026 — The South Adams County Fire Department (SACFD) is proud to announce the introduction of a new department logo, marking an exciting new chapter for the organization while honoring the proud tradition and history of the firefighters who came before us. Designed by members of the South Adams County Fire Department, the new logo reflects the department’s identity, values, and commitment to the community. The design brings a modern look to a familiar fire service tradition, representing both where SACFD has been and where the department is headed in the future. The transition to the new logo will take place gradually over the coming weeks and months. Community members will begin seeing the new logo appear on fire apparatus, equipment, uniforms, facilities, department communications, and other materials as SACFD completes the transition. “Our new logo represents more than a change in appearance. It represents our continued evolution as a fire department while respecting the history and traditions that built this organization,” said Fire Chief Bob Olme, South Adams County Fire Department. “While our look may be changing, our commitment to protecting and serving our community remains stronger than ever.” The new logo incorporates traditional fire service elements while providing a refreshed visual identity that represents the department’s continued growth, professionalism, and dedication to the community. For SACFD, the new logo is not about leaving the past behind, it is about carrying that legacy forward. Our logo may be new. Our commitment is not. The South Adams County Fire Department exists to serve and protect those in need through all-hazards emergency response, prevention, and community outreach. The cause of this morning’s apartment fire has been determined to be an e-bike with a lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion batteries power many everyday devices, including e-bikes, e-scooters, power tools, and other rechargeable equipment. While generally safe when used properly, damaged, improperly charged, or incompatible batteries can fail and ignite, causing fast-moving fires that produce intense heat and toxic smoke. To help reduce the risk: • Always use the manufacturer’s approved charger and battery. • Never charge batteries near exits or in hallways where they could block your escape. • Avoid overcharging batteries or leaving them charging unattended or overnight. • Stop using a battery if it becomes damaged, swollen, overheats, or emits an unusual odor. • Store batteries in a cool, dry location away from combustible materials. We are grateful the apartment’s fire sprinkler system activated quickly, helping contain the fire
