Public Goods Funding: Sustainable Blockchain Data Support
What is the Public Goods Funding Program, and why should every blockchain be part of this initiative?
KYVE’s Public Goods Funding Program is reshaping how blockchain projects access and maintain trustless, scalable data. So far, the KYVE Foundation has covered the costs of integrating over 10TB Some of those costs have been covered by PGF already or grants of blockchain data from Cosmos Hub, Axelar, Cronos, and others. To sustain this, KYVE Foundation requests delegations to run Public Good nodes, using the generated proceeds to fund and maintain data. Once tokens are collected, KYVE governance will vote to whitelist them for protocol funding. If approved, public good validator commissions will primarily sustain the data pools, ensuring long-term support for blockchain projects.
This initiative is a win-win for KYVE and blockchains that join PGF:
✅ Projects can off-board historical data efficiently while scaling seamlessly.
✅ KYVE expands its decentralized, trustless data sets to support the Web3 ecosystem.
✅ Validators & delegators in KYVE data pools receive a share of the proceeds generated by these nodes.
Over the past six months, eight chains have joined the Public Goods Funding Program, reinforcing KYVE's mission to secure and decentralize blockchain data.
