Housing First has been a spectacular failure that progressives refuse to acknowledge because its generated billions of dollars for the Homeless Industrial Complex. Don’t take my word for it. Listen to the homeless. She invited @tarafaul503 and I into her tent and

This man has been ranting violently about dead children and murder and smoking meth in a tent on a chinatown sidewalk for at least two straight days. Even the homeless are now gathering around with concern.
Police rolled past while we were here and did nothing
Someone's going to get hurt
The streets are demonic. This homeless man has been this way two straight days and has repeatedly said he got away with murder which is interesting considering that nine bodies were found floating in the Willamette river over the last month. @tarafaul503 and I have checked

A mysterious functioning "Free phone" has appeared in front of Street Roots in Portland. I thought I was taking crazy pills and hadn't noticed it before, but it's some kind of transplanted mutual aid installation
I tried calling my own number and it went to the mayor's office.
Something to brighten your day. Sunset at my favorite lake, Sparks Lake, Central Oregon Cascades. The road opens soon but it might be a few weeks until we can access the lakes. I plan to shoot a bunch more up there this year.

My response to the New York Times article written about the homeless in Deschutes County. It just so happens happens in summer 2023 I did the most extensive detailed assessment of Deschutes County homeless population ever. I spent over three months every day meticulously

MULTI-DAY TORNADO OUTBREAK RECAP
Over 420 tornadoes reported with tornado warnings from Texas to Wisconsin to New Jersey. The PDS tornado warnings and tornado emergencies were clustered across the heart of Dixie Alley, from northeast AR into western KY and northern MS into central TN.
This is very consistent with our seasonal forecast of Dixie Alley waking up in 2025

WOW! What a storm on visible satellite from GOES-17. Pressure nearing 970mb equivalent of a Category 2 hurricane. This storm is thousands of miles wide. Will produce the severe storms tonight in the PNW. A meteorological marvel from space. A perfect Fibonacci spiral.

Boulders used to keep out the Homeless. It’s expensive, and just pushes the problem elsewhere. The Homeless now just camp next to them or in residential areas. It’s another Homeless Industrial Complex practice to shuffle the Homeless around without actually helping them.

A homeless woman said decriminalizing drugs was just a way to make money off of them. By keeping them dependent there’s money in it because addiction often leads to other issues which the system benefits from. This is why I (and her) call it the Homeless Industrial Complex.

BREAKING: 🚨 Major storm threatens flooding, blizzard conditions, torrential rains and tornadoes across The United States.
Tens of millions of Americans will be at risk [over the next week] of severe weather as a massive storm marches across the country, threatening hurricane-force winds, major flooding, blizzard conditions and a possible tornado outbreak.
Meteorologists say the storm could impact every region of the country, first rolling ashore along the Pacific Coast on Wednesday, bringing soaking rain and heavy snow to California and other western states as it moves inland. The National Weather Service in Los Angeles warned of rock and mudslides. -USA TODAY

🚨GOOD BILL ALERT🚨
Let's save our hydroelectric dams!
Public Hearing on Thursday, March 6th, 8 am, House Committee On Climate, Energy, and Environment.
I have introduced House Bill 3247 which makes a power company have a new power source that meets certain standards before the company can close a power plant.
Oregon needs a clean, reliable source of baseload power to meet current and future energy demands. We cannot meet our future energy needs with wind and solar alone - far from it! We need abundant baseload power, and hydroelectric is part of the answer for Oregon.
This bill makes sure that a baseload power source such as hydroelectric will not be removed unless there is an equivalent replacement source of baseload power ready to go online.
Not only do these dams provide much needed power, they provide flood control, water storage, recreation, jobs, and more.
Please consider testifying in person, virtually, or in writing.
Just paste these two together for a link to the bill.
