Can someone explain to me why Vail is taking such a hard line with this strike? Ski Patrol is asking for a $2 per hour raise, which Vail can easily afford. One-day lift tickets are $300 (!!), and the reputational damage alone isn’t worth it. But why won't they give in?

The most depressing thing for me from the last 3 years is that some people seem angry at Ukrainians for wanting to fight for their whole country and their freedom.

As soon as something isn't profitable the private sector pulls out - this is exactly what we saw when Greyhound left Canada, creating a giant gap in highway bus travel, leaving rural Canadians stranded.
This is exactly what would happen if Canada Post was privatized too.
The solution to Canada Post's financial woes and murky future, according to one observer, is just two words: Sell it. cbc.ca/news/canada/postal-se…

Spotify’s model devalues music and creates unsustainable conditions for artists. We need the Living Wage for Musicians Act to regulate all streaming services and increase streaming payouts for musicians! Don’t let music get devalued - support the LWFMA and join UMAW.

For those keep score: Doug Ford has added $22.5B more to provincial debt than Kathleen Wynne did in her 5 years.
Conservatives are far from being fiscally prudent despite preaching so.

As of Dec 7, the Balance on Bloor website is gone. How many people gave $ or personal info to make a "better community for all", before this supposed "grassroots" campaign shut down? Textbook example of an Astroturf campaign that perfectly matched the needs of Ford and Sarkaria
New: Last year, a few Toronto businessmen protested against a bike lane.
This year, Doug Ford himself promised to rip it out — and change bike lane rules province-wide.
As it turns out, Balance on Bloor has some connections.

The fact that national security in Canada is bending the rules to give Pierre Poilievre evidence, because he refuses to be appropriately security cleared for it, that his leadership race was interfered with by the government of India is something.

So… apparently Ontario residents are paying $400 per household to subsidize an expensive spa that most of us will never use.
I’m SO NOT OKAY with this.
How many Educational Assistants could we provide to vulnerable children with complex needs for this money in #OntEd?!?
