I just left the ER.
We are officially back to getting crushed by COVID-19.
Delta Variant is running rampant and it’s MUCH more transmissible than the original virus.
99% of our ICU admits did NOT receive a vaccine.
Virtually ALL of them wish they had.

Let's be clear. The legislation passed in Georgia is voter suppression. The Senate must quickly take up the voting rights bills passed by the House of Representatives. If we are serious about calling ourselves a democracy, we must make it easier for people to vote – not harder.

A couple months ago I tweeted that a public-minded rich guy like @MikeBloomberg or @TomSteyer should step up to pay off Florida’s poll tax. A rich guy is stepping up but it wasn’t who I expected.
.@KingJames new voting rights group @morethanavote announces it is raising $100,000 for @FLRightsRestore to pay off fees & fines of people with past felony convictions in Florida so that they can vote in November

"alexander hamilton was complicit in american slavery" and "hamilton the musical is a once in a lifetime piece of art very worthy of praise that gave tremendous opportunity to artists of color, specifically black artists" are two statements that can and should coexist❤️

Telling people "If you're sick, stay home" is important but if their employers have been told it's okay to be doing business and they don't have sick leave, it's hardly surprising they keep going to work as long as they can.
Our contact tracers have noted a disturbing pattern: Only one in five people is self-isolating when they develop COVID-19 symptoms.
Close to 80% continue to circulate in the community. That needs to stop.
If you're sick, stay home.

the people in this audience, along with the presenters of this show, are assuring that conscientious musicians won't be able to work their jobs for a while, and that conscientious audiences won't be able to see shows for the foreseeable, and to be blunt, that fucking sucks.

Amid America's #COVID19 disaster, I must come clean about a lie I spread as a health insurance exec: We spent big $$ to push the idea that Canada's single-payer system was awful & the U.S. system much better. It was a lie & the nations' COVID responses prove it. The truth: (1/6)
