I genuinely cannot understand how Arsenal have allowed this summer to go the way it has.
We had one obvious weakness in this squad which is the attack. We needed more quality, more pace and another player capable of changing a game.
Instead, we've somehow ended the window weaker in the exact area that needed strengthening most.
This summer was about making this team a dynasty, not only competing in all competitions but winning them.
The attack, left wing in particular, was where an upgrade was needed, a world class player, and we had every chance to do that. But we have failed.
After we lost the UCL final Arteta said in his post-match press confrence that we need level raisers in the attack, and we come away from this window with arguably less quality and less depth than we had last season.
I do want to say though I appreciate the club's effort to sign Vini Jr, it would have been insane to pull off.
When it comes to Alvarez, the club waisted way too much time on trying to convince him to join, after a few no's we should of moved on.
For Rogers, I am fine with no paying that much given the reasons being trying to go all in for Vini Jr, but he was Artetas first choice and if we didn't wait so long he would of been cheaper.
Barcola was the deal to do in my opinion. He was overpriced, but so was everyone else. In this market, sometimes you have to overpay to get the best players.
Yildiz was always a no from Juventus and then he got injured and the same was for kroupi although both would of have been great signings.
From then on we had a choice of going for another winger or keep Martinelli, we sold Martinelli as we know.
As the window went on, I became more and more annoyed by the fact that we've sold three, now four, attacking players and have only brought in one, who was essentially supposed to replace Trossard.
The club knew they was not proceeding in signing Fofana so the Nwaneri loan is the worst part about this as that didn't have to happen as it would leave us short in attack.
When I saw the links to Fofana yesterday it wasn't excitement and big news but it was more relief.
After failing to get a big world class signing I just did not want to be lacking in numbers in the attack, so it got to a point where i wanted a young exciting winger to be the back-up to Tzolis and then in January go for Kroupi.
At the end of the window we have FAILED. Berta and the board have not only failed the fans but they have failed Arteta.
It is annoying and frustrating to end this window with only one signed attacker, having sold 4.
A net spend of £60-70 million, in a season where we made the most money in both transfers and club revenue, is a joke.
I still believe we can win the league, but we have made it harder for ourselves. However, I don't think we can win the Champions League with this attack.
You have let us down Berta and the board.
Arteta deserved more❤️
This just tells us that we know by January we will need Nwaneri back as our attack is low on players
If we knew we were not going to buy another attacker why loan him out!
🚨 @jamesbenge:
Arsenal will have a January recall clause for Ethan Nwaneri, who is set to join Borussia Dortmund on loan. 🤝

Summer “Plan”
Feb/March - Spoke to Julian, who was relaxed and open to all options. Also had serious interest in Kenan Yildiz leading up to the summer. Approached Juve, who said absolutely no chance.
Early summer: Worked for months on Morgan Rogers. Mikel’s main target, after Kenan was not for sale. Got Morgan on board and knew we could do it for £85 - 100m but decided to play the field to spin plates. Waited too long, and now the Elliott A. deal dictates the new market price. Villa now want more than £115m. We check in with Barcola, who is also in a similar price range.
The club decide, after weeks of delaying, to finally engage in some talks with Villa, who tell us they want an amount close to the Elliott A. deal. While we delay, Alonso has spoken to Morgan, Behdad has spoken to Nassef, and they wrap up months of our work and delays in 36 hours. We were even offered the chance to match and refused.
We then internally agree that Morgan was not worth that, so we pivot to the market opportunity that was “Vini Jr.” The hierarchy accept this is a generational signing and say, “Let’s do whatever it takes to get him.” They agree personal terms and leave the final decision up to him. He chose Madrid. The club are then deflated but satisfied with their efforts in this particular case.
They then pivot back to Kenan in a desperate attempt to convince Juve with creative deals, such as using Martinelli, but the answer is clear: not for sale.
We have been checking in with Alvarez this whole time, who is fixated on Barça despite being told it will never happen. They realise he is the only “level raiser” left, so push hard for Julian, who doesn’t believe his Barça dream is over.
They check on Gakpo (I’m sure many other names too). N’Diaye’s agent is saying, “Come get me.” They bite on the Fofana offer and consider it to some degree.
In the end, they feel disappointed with the outcome of the whole window. Its been below par for sure.
Personally, I tried to voice my concerns early when I saw patterns during the Morgan saga. I was alarmed because you don’t just become competent overnight after being this “dithery” and hesitant, trying to spin plates. Read the post I quoted.
Side note, but a big side note, because the truth matters : They explored the sale of Myles via Kia to understand his market value. Myles always said he wanted to stay. He is settled now, and the matter is closed.
I am a fan just like you. I also, like you, get excited when MY club promises big things. I think if there is disappointment within the club about the conclusion of the summer, then fans should be entitled to voice their opinions too. Again, your frustrations are justified. Many who know more feel the exact same way.
My argument is PSG signed Doué, who at the time was on the come-up. The market is there for shrewd people to take advantage of. Mikel deserves world-class people around him. Premier League champions, UCL finalists, and we end up with a weaker attack?
Man City rebuilt their whole midfield in one summer and we have not signed a true world class attacker in how many windows? 5 or 6?
It was the summer of Premier League champions, but we didn’t plan nor execute a Champions summer.
I am gutted and very worried we are very short on numbers, but I will always back Mikel and the lads. They give it their all.Mikel, being the person he is, will want to now focus on what’s next, and that is Chelsea.
If anyone at Arsenal is reading this, fans are not crying about a shiny new toy, they back the squad and understand we are in good place but wanted to be in a great place.
Important to ensure discussions are not labelled as crash outs. I dont have the privilege of recording a video so Im just going to explain my fair and honest thoughts thus far.
Fans are not angry at Monga going to City its more so the laid back approach of trying to outsmart a market where money talks.
Losing out on a talent who badly wanted Arsenal over £3/4 million is not being “disciplined”its just dithering and stubbornness. He would have gone on loan, a club would have covered his wages and you could have flipped for profit but Andrea took too long and City should have never even had a chance. Its just the truth.
Not paying ungodly amounts to Tonali’s agents is fair and the same can be said about his wages and £100m fee. I find it hard to believe fans would have been angry at signing Fernandes for £85m if that who YOU really want. The market has shifted and we need adapt. Lowballing Newcastle for a midfielder who improves us massively is just a piss take. Make a serious offer and get it done if HE is the ONE. That is what fans are saying.
Villa have told us £130m for Morgan. If YOU believe that is way too much, make a FAIR offer and lets see how they react. Barcola is not any cheaper so just make your mind up.
Rice, Saliba, Timber and Saka are struggling and we need to ensure they are taken care of while having adequate cover to begin our title defence.
Mikel always calls for fair critique and as a fan its fair to express concerns. I personally dont need transfer dopamine but im just asking to move correct and that is based on information I have. Im sure the club will make moves, lets get a move on.
We are Premier League Champions, move like it.
Arteta has one us our first premier league in 20+ years and he gets delivered this kind of window.
Andrea Berta you have failed not only us fans but the one person who deserved immense backing in the transfer window.
#BertaOut
I do not care how we win the league if we win and I do not care how we win the champions league if we win
But having to watch 55+ games with this attack is going to be another long season
No pace on transition and nobody who just takes on a man and has some flair to them
We win but we win uncomfortably

#1 Target - Rogers(gone to Chelsea)
#2 Target - Barcola(going to Liverpool probably)
#3 Target - Vini Jr(renewing his contract)
Alvarez is an upgrade but we NEED a world class let winger
Yildiz is “untouchable”
Nico Williams is not at that level anymore and has injury problems
Leao is hardly an upgrade on Martinelli
Kvara is the dream but also “untouchable”
What do we do…
The fact David Ornstein said it, means it has true potential
He didn’t even mention anything about Roger’s and look how that turned out
