This made me smile so big. Grateful for each and every moment. Best years of my life so far, the best is yet to come. All my love always 💙🧡#ILL
Countdown to kickoff Day 34: Ryan Meed
A former walk-on, Meed became a big part of the 2024 #Illini defense as a senior team captain.
At his Illinois Pro Day, Meed ran a 4.51 40-yard dash and put up 25 reps on the bench press, eventually leading him to sign with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He stepped away from pro football earlier this year.

LB @RyanMeed34 loves challenges, so earned a 2nd tryout look with pro wrestling giant #WEE development programs. But @Ticats by far his main priority. Read about it and his underdog football journey at Ticats.ca/trainingcamp. #CFL #FightingIllini #McMaster

The #Panthers worked out three ILBs today: They signed Krys Barnes but also looked at Ryan Meed (rookie from Illinois) and Max Tooley (played for BYU before splitting last year with HOU and MIN).
Missed opportunity with wordplay with Tooley, but Barnes clearly has experience.
More on the #Panthers' move to get a veteran linebacker behind Trevin Wallace and Christian Rozeboom: charlotteobserver.com/sports…
My goat. @CoachEmbleton
