Looping transformers haven around for years. Shit is old news. The previous generation was built on looping (RNN). Just because you are uninformed doesn’t mean it’s novel.

More AI-generated code doesn't make your team faster. It might actually slow you down.

While Antropic is asking for a pause and mythos just being a small bump in capabilities. I revisit this graph slowing the clear logarithmic growth of capability. Turns out attention and LLMs do have a limit.

Wouldn’t it be funny if we provoke Iran into destroying Saudi Oil Infrastructure and then we destroy theirs in retaliation. Fucking over china and leaving the US with Venezuela as the main suppliers with Russia?

So i did an experiment at work recently where I had a openclaw comb the codebase for bugs, test coverage and dead code and improvements. It gave 150 diffs in 12 hours and about 30% - 40% were actually legitimate changes. So its interesting as the pure volume of work done was beyond anything manually i could do but the success rate is so low that its far from autonomous. I call this slop mining ie turning the probabilistic nature of this system into an advantage and filtering out the failures.

It’s amazing the only reason we have avoided dystopia is the incompetence of the modern elites.

I find it fascinating how at every big tech I have been at that no matter how talented or capable the individual are, once they hit middle management they are absorbed by the blob. This is where they are super excited about the process of enshittification of a product. Like we don’t need yet another random feature that no one uses. I knew of team that required 5 layers of click through to hit their UI and they got maybe 10 poor souls finding it a day. Not to mention there were 5 other pages that did the same thing. And these middle managers will sit there with a straight face claiming this feature is critical and needs funding as it unlocks potential millions of revenue based a sketchy SQL query one of the devs made with questionable accuracy.

Looks like china is dumping their treasuries in retaliation for the 104% tariffs.

Damn looks the MAGA and the Silicon Valley crowd are having a rift right now. Its quite obvious most Americans are fed up with any immigration legal or illegal.

Everyone really abuses the concept of serverless functions like Lambda (looking at you Next Js). These functions should be just used for event processing and not backends. As soon as you need to call more than two apis from your function make everything a traditional web server.

Your much better off having a node monolith in docker container deployed to ECS or EC2 than a service that is dependent on lambda calls being in sync and dealing with cold starts and the complexities of have all it not on the same box to start with.

Servless functions when used right are great for processing webhooks and events. This is their greatest strength. I can dynamically process an event that happens occasionally like a sign up or a billing event.

Micro Service purists are the worse. So are monolith fan boys. Its not a hard concept you start with a monolith and then break it out into themes over time.

You do this til until you have about 12 engineers working on a service. You should never have two account services or permission services doing the same thing as that causes chaos.

Amazon ran into that problem with verticals where everything had its own way of do say account and permissions which created a nightmare for customers.
