A packed room in the Ivanhoe Hotel tonight in Carryduff for the launch of Sinn Féin’s South Belfast and Mid Down election campaign.
Pat Cullen and Deirdre Hargey are two formidable candidates with a strong record of leadership and standing up for people.
For the first time ever, Sinn Féin can win two Assembly seats in South Belfast and Mid Down next May.
Every vote will count next May.
Together, let’s make history.

Public sector workers deserve fair pay. Nothing less.
The British government is underfunding our public services and treating workers here with contempt.
Sinn Féin will keep fighting for the funding needed to deliver the pay rises our workers deserve and improve our public services.

Sinn Féin West Belfast MLA Aisling Reilly has announced she will not be standing in next year’s Assembly election.
We wish Aisling all the very best with her upcoming hip operation and her recovery, and look forward to seeing her back out on the ground as soon as possible, working to ensure that Sinn Féin’s West Belfast candidates are successful in the election.
Go raibh maith agat, a Aisling. Ádh mór!

The A5 has just been given the green light to go ahead by the courts! 👏🏼
I’ve spoken with our Infrastructure Minister, Liz Kimmins, and she’s ready to get on with this vital work.
Building the A5 is an absolute priority for Sinn Féin.

I will not tolerate the DUP and the orange order treating the people of the Garvaghy Road as second-class citizens.
I have proudly stood in support of the Garvaghy Road community, and I will continue to do so.
There can be no unwanted orange march down the Garvaghy Road.

This march is steeped in sectarian violence and murder.
21 people murdered from 1996 to 1999.
There can be no unwanted orange march down Garvaghy Road.
No Going Back.
Not now. Not ever!
As a 'real' resident i have zero interest listening to a woman who has called me and my family Rabble, Thugs and part of a mob whilst standing side by side with Jamie Bryson.
"I am willing, I stand ready, to negotiate or to facilitate any negotiations with the real residents of the Gravaghy Road."
DUP MP @carlalockhart tells Sunday Politics she has every sympathy with them as the "are being used by very bad actors."

On my way to Cardiff for a historic meeting of Sinn Féin, the SNP and Plaid Cymru.
For the first time ever, there are three nationalist and pro-independence First Ministers, here in the North, in Scotland and in Wales.

This is what the Fleadh is all about, and it’s why Sinn Féin worked so hard to bring it to Béal Feirste for the very first time.
The city is buzzing. The streets are full of music, conversation and celebration. The energy is contagious, and there is a real sense of unity right across the city.

We want to pay tribute to the incredible sacrifice and service of Gerry Kelly to the cause of Irish freedom over many decades, as he announces that he will not contest the upcoming Assembly election.
Gerry has been at the heart of the republican struggle and Sinn Féin leadership for decades.
His commitment and leadership are, and will always be, immensely valued by Republicans across Ireland.
In 2026, Sinn Féin is the strongest we have been since partition.
We look forward to Gerry continuing to play an important role during these times of historic change as we continue to work toward a new and united Ireland.
We want to wish Gerry, Margaret and the entire Kelly family the very best.
