It's not always easy to hear, but 99% of the time you aren't playing, it's on you.
Coaches are paid to win games and if they aren't playing you, it's usually because you aren't doing something they need. Work on that skill, build your relationship, & watch your min increase!

"At some point, you’ve got to care about the sport. Especially if the sport has given you a lot. Doing things to hurt the sport so that you can win a little bit more, you’ve got to look in the mirror a little on that."

Climbing the ladder in the college coaching profession is hard. And there are a lot of people out there trying to get into the profession. But there are more opportunities than ever available. Too many young aspiring coaches are complaining on social media about how they can't find an opportunity. Unfortunately, most entry level positions don't pay well. For those who don't have an inside connection, you will have to make sacrifices if you want to succeed in this profession. I can fill a large file cabinet with all of my rejection letters over the past 30 years. Persistence and hard work will ultimately pay off.

I did 6 years unpaid to be able to coach college basketball. Make connections, treat people correct, respect the game. Good things should happen
