SUP?! Happy World Space Week! Special shout out to friends & colleagues at the 2026 @iafastro IAC. Sorry I wasn't able to attend the 4/6am committee meetings, but at least I attended a board meeting today. Follow @WorldSpaceWeek #WorldSpaceWeek and find events near you. #IAC2026

Frank Culbertson, Expedition 3 Commander aboard the @Space_Station, captured this photo as smoke rose from the Twin Towers in New York City 25 years ago today.
We pause to reflect on that terrible day and pay tribute to the victims, survivors, and heroes of the 9/11 attacks.

Starry starry night. Channeling my inner post-impressionism vibes as I experiment with long exposure star trails from the @Space_Station Japanese Experiment Module window. Maybe van Gogh was dreaming in long exposure for his masterpiece. That’s the @JAXA_en external platform (JEF) in the foreground, looking toward the port truss solar arrays on the left. Taken with a Nikon Z9, 14mm lens, 180s exposure.
I had to help Teddy Mercury Kobrick cross the rainbow bridge (8/10) and say goodbye to my bestest friend ever. He brought me so much joy and light for almost 13 years. My little shadow. I love you so much Teddy and wish you were by my side and healthy. Your were the fluffliest. – at Edgewater, CO

My favorite capture of the night: The moment the moon's shadow split the sunset in half, leaving a diamond ring in the sky and a breathtaking view. I call it "Shadows on the Balearic Sea".
I'll have prints available for this one linked in my bio for a few days only.

Pikachu, standing by! 🚀
We’re partnering with the @esa for World Space Week 2026! More information is coming soon.
This should be really interesting and anyone who is looking to contribute to #Artemis should be tuning in. Each part of this event will indicate what early infrastructure and technologies will receive funding through various contract opportunities. #ToTheMoon! – at Edgewater, CO
What's next for @NASAMoonBase?
Join us on Tuesday, June 30 at 2:30pm ET (1830 UTC) for a live news event where we'll share updates on our plans for lunar exploration and the next steps toward establishing an enduring human presence on the Moon. go.nasa.gov/4wcDoPu
Everyone be safe. The smoke is so bad that the Moon looks red. Fires are mostly on the West side of Colorado but the air breathing quality is sh!t. If you have AC keep your windows shut to help. #Colorado #WildFires #ColoradoFires #RedMoon – at Lakewood, CO

.@NASA awarded contracts to @Astrolab_Space and @LunarOutpostInc to create new lunar terrain vehicle designs for Artemis astronauts to traverse the Moon starting with the Artemis 4 mission. We spoke with the companies to learn about the road ahead.

It's our home.
This Earth Day, see our planet as our Artemis II astronauts saw it with these new images from the mission.
Replying to @NASA
We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

ALT A full disk image of Earth, as seen from the Orion capsule. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. From about 8 to 9 o'clock, a large brown landmass is Africa, with the Iberian peninsula twinkling with lights just where the planet curves. At the 1 o'clock spot, aurora glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space. Credit: NASA/Reid Weisman
