What makes an SME investment-ready?
At the #HatanaWihugure graduation, @BRDbank, @BankofKigali, @imbankrw, and AMIFA shared what lenders look for in Rwandan SMEs.
The message was clear: finance follows discipline. Real market relationships open doors that collateral alone cannot.

1/ Yesterday, AMI joined @RwandaEast Governor @PudenceR to reflect on #KATAZA's progress, SMEs trained, entrepreneurs accessing finance, & new jobs created across the province in partnership with @BRDbank
We discussed how to build on this momentum and expand the program's impact
2/ Encouragingly, the Governor committed to bringing District leaders, Mayors & representatives of persons with disabilities into the conversation. A strong step toward deeper inclusion & lasting impact.
Success shared by our partners: @MastercardFdn @AMIR_Rwanda @rwamrec & Mvend

What does impact look like when entrepreneurs get practical tools, the right support and strong networks? More businesses reached. More jobs created. More revenue generated. Real growth, beyond the training room. 🧵

For Rwanda’s business community, the takeaway is clear: when entrepreneurs can put learning into action, stronger businesses, better livelihoods and more opportunities can follow. Explore AMI’s 2025 Impact Report for the full story.

I meet entrepreneurs at the start: a small shop, a big idea, and a list of things standing in the way. I see them again at graduation, and they are different people running different businesses, accessing loans they couldn't get before, opening second ventures, hiring their neighbours.
That arc is why the @africamanager's 2025 Impact Report means so much to me. Shifting from #Rwanda to larger countries such as #Nigeria, #Kenya, #Ghana, I realised that although I was tackling different markets, the story remains the same. What stays with me isn't the scale; it's who's driving it! Women-led businesses outperformed the average across the board. I have watched that happen up close: a woman who started with one struggling business now runs two and is teaching other women how she did it.
This is the part of the job I'm proudest of, not just opening doors for SMEs and MSMEs, but watching what they build once they're through them 👏
