A competitor is driven by the relentless pursuit of winning and outsmarting an opponents. When i coach these types of players, i see that they View the game as a challenge to conquer. They are highly focused on strategy, relentless determination, and improving every day.
A player focuses primarily on participation and the fun of the game. This means that they focus on the enjoyment of the game. If they aren't having fun, they tend to fail or lose passion.
So many of us have played sports and seen the ups and downs of loving a game so much that it hurts. When you love something like a sport, You want to put the work in. However that doesnt mean you will. So many aspiring valorant pro's confuse themselves for competitors.
I think as a coach it is so important to build a players understanding of how to be a competitor rather than being the best valorant player. i think its impossible to force someone into being a top player if they cant be a competitor.
