Ukraine is the best country for everything including project growth :)
Ukraine just became the #1 market for one of the world’s oldest tier-1 exchanges. In 90 days. From zero. Kraken entered in April with no local team, no community, and only a handful of occasional creators. Three months later, Ukraine ranked #1 by revenue across all markets in Kraken’s global KOL program, ahead of the US. The scoreboard: → 0 → ~100 creators, the largest cohort in the global program → 20×+ growth in monthly new traders → 51% of sign-ups became active traders — 1.4× the US benchmark → ~2× payback, with the market profitable before day 90. Market entries like this are supposed to burn money for a year. We skipped that part. And none of it happens without @paskal_navi, Head of EM Growth at Kraken. He saw Ukraine as a top-tier opportunity while the industry still filed it under “risk.” Then he backed that conviction with the rarest currency in a large organization: speed. Decisions in hours. Air cover when the playbook needed breaking. Trust when the market demanded executiion instead of another deck. The easiest hard project we’ve ever run because of who was on the other side of it.

building a startup ecosystem in a country where people wake up to explosions instead of your alarm clock is a pretty unusual experience but somehow, we're still here. building, connecting people, planning events + making ambitious plans for the future and I love being part of it so, huge thanks to @AvaxTeam1 for believing in my idea of bringing Team1 to Ukraine 🔺 more capital, more opportunities, more international connections for Ukrainian builders because our ambitions definitely haven't gotten any smaller!! and ofc, thanks to my dear @solus_group we keep building🇺🇦

“We tried Ukraine. It didn’t respond.” We’ve heard that from a dozen companies. Then we ask: what did you actually do? Usually: ◆ A translated website. ◆ An empty Telegram. ◆ A few cold DMs to creators from three time zones away. ◆ Six weeks of flat numbers. Then Ukraine disappears from next year’s plan. That is not a market entry. Ukraine is one of the world’s most experienced crypto markets. Users already hold crypto, trust local platforms, and know what good looks like. They do not need to be convinced. They need a reason to choose you. That cannot be solved from headquarters. It is a presence problem. The five mistakes below look different, but share one root cause: ◆ The market is being run remotely. ◆ The companies that win build locally, earn trust, and put people in the room. ◆ That is the difference between an entry that compounds and one that quietly dies in the deck.

Some numbers from Kraken’s first 90 days in Ukraine. No local team. No community. No creators. One quarter later: → #1 market by revenue in Kraken’s global KOL program — ahead of the US → 1 in 4 new traders across the program was Ukrainian → 51% of sign-ups became active traders → ~2× payback, profitable in the same quarter We made sure Kraken actually entered it with people on the ground, not a campaign launched from another timezone.

one of the reasons why I'm bullish on defense tech nowhere else in the world could we see the same level of innovation nowhere else in the world could we see the same level of drones fighting for people the world ( well, best part of it ) needs UA experience while UA needs @FedorovMykhailo
We transformed Ukraine into a global tech leader and a defense powerhouse. Beyond digital IDs, Diia.Cіty, and 5G, we revolutionized warfare. Through the Army of Drones and the @BRAVE1ua cluster, we achieved a logistical lockdown for the occupiers, reached a 91% Shahed interception rate, and launched the unique e-Points system to incentivize our troops on the frontlines. 7 years of service. From GovTech to Defense Tech. Thank you for your trust!

It has been a great honor to serve the Ukrainian people as the Minister of Defense. Here is what our team managed to achieve: 1. Disabled Starlink access for Russian forces. 2. Took over a Ministry of Defense with zero budget, took a risk, reallocated funds from payroll from the end of the year, and effectively invested them in mid-strike capabilities, fiber-optic FPVs, low-cost reconnaissance, ground robotic platforms, interceptor drones, and deep-strike drones. 3. Launched "Logistical Lockdown", this cut off enemy logistics and initiated the isolation of Crimea. 4. Continued the funding program for the Drone Line. 5. Launched a support program for modern drone-assault units that rely primarily on advanced technologies in combat. 6. Introduced a 70% advance payment policy for procurements made via e-Points on the Brave1 Market portal. 7. Fundamentally overhauled the procurement system. 8. Procured thousands of pickup trucks, buggies, and ATVs for the military for the first time—and did so through open tenders. 9. The drone interception rate rose from 83% to 91%, and the cruise missile interception rate soared from 47% to 87%. 10. Contracted Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T missiles for the first time, and submitted an application through an EU loan to purchase PAC-3 missiles. 11. Launched a baseline drone supply system for brigades and corps. 12. Launched a massive grant program for manufacturers of explosives and missiles. 13. Initiated an unpopular but vital transformation of the military. 14. Conducted three UDCG meetings, where we successfully broke through the Russian information trap claiming our defeat, restoring partners' faith in Ukraine. This secured $40 billion in support announced for this year (excluding the EU loan). 15. Launched the mechanism to utilize the EU loan for our military priorities. 16. Found a way to scale cheap missiles against jet-powered Shaheds and signed a record-breaking contract. 17. Our domestic ballistics. We radically revised the technical specifications, maximized accuracy, and reduced the cost by 30%. 18. Signed a contract to procure Gripen fighter jets. 19. Collaborated with the military to plan and execute Operation Auchan, which halted the enemy's mechanized offensive for six months. 20. Opened up exports under the Drone Deal program to attract investment and scale up domestic defense-industrial complex (OPK) production. 21. Launched the Trophy Lab, providing partners with the opportunity to study captured Russian military technologies. 22. Launched the Defense AI Center A1 to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence on the battlefield. Thank you to my entire team for their relentless 24/7 service. A special thank you to my family for their patience. Thank you all for your support! I will continue to work toward the mission I originally brought to the Ministry of Defense: defeating the enemy through asymmetry, the speed of innovation, and the power of organization. To be continued.

haven't written anything here for quite a while not because I was busier than usual honestly, I had no idea what to write about.... or, to be more precise, I had no idea what I actually wanted to do at all I believe everyone who's been in Web3 for years knows that feeling you genuinely love the industry the web3 people the web3 opportunities the web3 vibe but at the same time, let's stop pretending nothing is changing and "all is fine" web3 isn't dying. it's becoming stronger maybe, stronger than anytime before it's just... becoming normal it's slowly merging with Web2 and I honestly believe that in a few years no one will be talking about "Web3" anymore same as today nobody says "I'm using Web2" it'll simply become part of the internet and somehow, that realization pushed me to rethink what I actually want to build I've been through every possible scenario in my head -> leave Web3 completely -> go into something fully offline or keep searching for a direction that actually feels meaningful and I think I finally found it surprisingly, it combines two worlds Ukraine expansion and defense tech never expected to write that second part 😄 before the full-scale invasion defense wasn't something I was particularly interested in tbh, I wasn't actually interested after it, also in the war at a deeper level than every single UA citizen should be interested in but the deeper I got into it, the more I realized how unbelievably sophisticated this ecosystem has become and apparently I'm not the only one who's surprised every conversation with European and US companies ends with the same realization: Ukraine has an incredible amount of experience, technology and talent that the world genuinely wants to learn from so looks like that's where I want to spend my time and finally have an answer to my "So why?" penguin question helping global companies with the right values expand into Ukraine whether it's Web3, fintech, or defense ok, defense a bit more as for now :) already doing this with teams like Kraken and ready for massive expansion wish me luck 👀 and if any part of this resonates with you - always happy to chat P.S @solus_group continue to provide usual services, while new announcements are coming soon

Ukraine has been crypto-native for years 🇺🇦 Now Kraken is officially here. 24/7 access to crypto, payments, and tokenized equities — plus lower fees, rewards, and exclusive offers for the Ukrainian community. Це лише початок. Слава Україні!

congrats, team
Today we're announcing @Tok_edge - out of stealth with a $15M valuation, raising $21M at TGE with a $100M first close target. Institutional demand for digital assets is validated with @BlackRock 's Bitcoin ETF and @Strategy's digital asset treasury. But these are single asset products restricted to traditional finance rails – they don't touch DeFi, where capital markets are being rebuilt on-chain with 24-hour settlement, no centralised intermediaries and programmable infrastructure. We established @Tok_edge to bring institutional capital on-chain - as active participants. We maintain the structure and governance that institutional investors expect - while our new Redemption Token operates on public blockchains, designed to integrate with exchanges and DeFi protocols. Our approach is to make digital assets investable through a structure interoperable between traditional and decentralised finance. Links in comments. Contact: [email protected]

now to more… subjective lyrical part of ETHCC/CantonCC conclusions 1. slower pace not in a bad way - more like intentional ( or should we say institutional as for now??) spending way more time, energy, attention on people you already know people you’ve been building hard with online just meeting, talking, coffee, prosecco, random walks its probably the best part of all conferences meeting new ppl is cool, but going IRL with folks u've managed to connect online is one of the best experiences was super happy to connect with folks from @Aster_DEX, @LluisBardet, @daosasha, @ohdatskate, @rektonomist_ , @m_i_yatsenko, @frogule, @0xDannyHype and other ledends🥰 2. web3 is ( not ) dying but it definitely feels like a Phoenix moment not “separate industry” anymore, just becoming part of the global system and you can feel it crypto wasn’t even the main topic in many conversations → more tradfi → more AI → more war → more “real world” with a pinch of crypto everywhere 3. TGE as a concept is not just struggling it's dead without any remnants of flesh and hope meanwhile a lot of teams are already building alternatives: → hybrid IPO-like models → more structured contribution systems → better alignment between product & token so good teams won’t be forced to build tokens first and bad teams won’t win just because they went viral once or went drunk with right investor once 4. our founder @Ayde_Sol_Jedi kinda “infected” people with miltech narrative so 30% of ETHCC went to that direction 5. and last funny shift: KOLs marketing suddenly feels… not that important I honestly spend much more time speaking about UA war rather than KOLs what I think about that? thinking about that too much, but not sure u are ready for 456789 additional sentences here 6. last last one I urgently need $10M for a yacht in Monaco ========= less noise more meaning (or rather attempt to find it)
ETHCC / “CantonCC” recap STATE OF MARKET 1.the most important market indicator: → some events had paid water → some had no water at all people literally leaving conferences just to drink. bullish? bearish? you decide 2. a lot of people started calling ETHCC - CantonCC why? Canton basically owned the stage, private talks + gave free coffee hehe 3. fav convo: - me : what are you doing in web3? - guy I met : GTM for TGEs - me :…ut there are no TGEs now - guy I met : yeah, so I don't have a lot of work 😭 4, tradfi guys right now feel way more comfortable at these events than classic ETH degens ====== STATE OF CANNES 1. SUPER GOOD city for conferences → used taxi once to the end of Cannes suburbs → everything else 5–15 min walk → random networking just by walking 2. Monaco & Nice nearby = 10/10 decision to escape for a day 3. climate: good but +1 month later (warmer sea with utility!) = perfect 4. prices: just Europe nothing crazy 5. fun detail: sports culture there is insane. everyone running morning / day / evening felt like Web3 x Nike collab 6. service: mixed ( my fav phrase Ukrainians would do that better is still relevant ) some waiters forgot orders some were so good we became friends (and kept coming back every evening) ======= next post - more serious takes ( but not too much ) should I drop?
