Mehdi Hasan Confronts Nancy Mace Over Her Anti-Muslim Remarks — “Do You Stand With Muslim American Women?” Nancy Mace: I’m terrified of radical Islam. I’ve seen what they’ve done in foreign countries when a woman shows her hair being stoned to death, being put to death. That’s not the kind of ideology I want to see grow in the United States. Days before the 25th anniversary of 9/11, New York City’s mayor gave his signed remembrance order pin to a guy who defended a member of Al-Qaeda. We’re seeing animal sacrifice approved by a local city council in Michigan, and people screaming “Death to America” on American streets. That kind of thing is growing, and we’ve got to put a stop to it. Piers Morgan: Mehdi Hasan, your response? Mehdi Hasan: It’s interesting you didn’t play the clip of Ted Cruz at the RNC where people in the crowd shouted, “Kill them, shoot them!” They were making death threats. We also saw an attack on a mosque in San Diego, where three Muslim worshippers were killed. It’s very dangerous to use sweeping, bigoted rhetoric like this. I’m afraid of radical Islam too. I don’t want to be killed by a Muslim terrorist, like anyone else. But that’s not all Nancy Mace has said. She’s attacked Muslims in general and claimed no Muslim American should hold public office because they’re all “Trojan horses.” Dr. Oz is a Muslim. He’s part of Trump’s administration. Is he a Trojan horse? She has also claimed that all terrorists are Muslims. That’s obviously not true. And when a woman in Texas confronted two Muslim-American women shopping and told them to leave the country, Nancy Mace tweeted, “I stand with Dasha.” Mehdi Hasan: So why are you asking two Muslim-American women to leave the country? Nancy Mace: I am not! And you have a monopoly on hypocrisy. Are you going to let the woman speak? Mehdi Hasan: Before you attack me, deal with what I just said. You said, “I stand with Dasha.” Do you stand with Dasha? Do you stand with Muslim-American women? Nancy Mace: I’m not racist. I’m American, and I’m America First. Piers Morgan: All right, let us all settle down a bit. Nancy Mace, you want to respond. Nancy Mace: This is an example of Mehdi’s anger toward me and his lack of respect as a woman. Not even allowing me to speak is basically part of Sharia law. That’s my point, Mehdi. You don’t respect women who have opposite views. And Dasha isn’t the only Christian woman who’s been interrupted or accosted by Muslim women. Fifteen years ago, I was nursing an infant in a grocery store in Atlanta, minding my own business, when two Muslim women came up to me and asked me to leave. This has been going on for over a decade, and it’s only getting worse.
