Great to join my friends, House and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairmen Robert Dickey and Russ Goodman, last week in Perry at the Legislative Livestock Showdown!
Very few Georgians work as hard for our state's farmers as Robert and Russ, and I'm honored to have them on Team Harper!
Keep Plowin'! 🇺🇸🚜

I am honored to have the support and endorsement of former Governor Roy Barnes!
We may not see eye to eye on every issue, but Governor Barnes knows that when it comes to agriculture, I will always work in good faith with members of both parties to support Georgia's #1 industry and the farm families who fuel its success. #gapol

Today, @AgCommHarperGA joined committee co-chairs @RussGoodman8 and @robertdickey140 for the Joint Study Committee on Generational Sustainability of Family Farms’ second meeting at @berrycollege in Mount Berry, Georgia. The committee is examining the challenges and opportunities surrounding the long-term sustainability of Georgia’s family farms.
During today’s meeting, committee members toured Berry College’s agricultural facilities and learned more about its agriculture programs and hands-on educational opportunities. The visit offered valuable insight into the role education, innovation, and workforce development can play in supporting Georgia agriculture for generations to come.

Over the last eight years, we’ve achieved historic wins for hardworking Georgians from all walks of life and made our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
We’ve passed the largest tax cut in state history, announced the largest economic development projects ever, raised teacher pay by nearly ten thousand dollars, led the entire nation in recovering from a pandemic, cracked down on criminal street gangs, invested historic amounts in school safety and classroom excellence, and made Georgia a national leader in job creation from businesses large and small.
That’s a conservative record of success that Marty, the girls, and I are proud of—and it’s one that would not have been possible without our partners in the General Assembly.
Whether it was during his service in the state senate or as Lt. Governor, @burtjonesforga has been a strong, trusted ally in those victories for the people of our state. He worked hard alongside me and my administration to return over $9 billion back to taxpayers, raise pay and retirement benefits for state law enforcement, and he never wavered when we took on the special interests to pass meaningful tort reform for the first time in twenty years.
Burt knows how to get things done as governor because that’s what he has done as a state senator and as your Lt. Governor.
The hardest part about being governor is making decisions that aren’t always popular or easy. I’ve worked alongside Burt for nearly fifteen years and I’m confident that he will always put hardworking Georgians first.
This fall, Georgians will have a clear choice to make in their next governor. I believe Burt Jones will make a strong case to the voters for four more years of conservative leadership that ensures our state’s best days are ahead, while Democrats try to run from Keisha Lance Bottoms’ record of complete failure as mayor of Atlanta.
Marty, the girls, and I are proud to endorse Burt Jones to be the 84th Governor of the great state of Georgia and ask you to join us in supporting him on Tuesday.

I’m honored to have Gus and Beth Walters' endorsement.
After their son, Austin, was tragically taken from this world due to fentanyl, we helped pass ‘Austin’s Law’ which became the toughest law against fentanyl in Georgia.
Their fight is why I fight for Georgians every day

If decency and civility were the crops that fed civilization and the crop estimate for such was estimated by scrolling Twitter for signs of “fruit of the spirit” I’m afraid most agronomists would conclude that our society is headed toward a famine.

Austin's Law is helping save lives in Georgia. I want to thank the Walters family for their courage to reach out and their dedication to honor Austin’s life. I am proud of Sen. Russ Goodman for sponsoring this priority legislation and thankful to the Georgia Senate for its bipartisan support. This vital legislation protects Georgians by ensuring that criminals who sell poisons like fentanyl are held accountable.

Great morning on our family farm in Butts County with my friend and our outstanding Senate Agriculture Chairman, @RussGoodman8. Agriculture is Georgia’s #1 industry and the backbone of our economy. I’ll always fight for rural Georgia and the men and women who get up before daylight to feed and fuel our state 🇺🇸

Georgia agriculture is a top driver of our state’s economy and a way of life for countless families. The Senate Study Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, chaired by Senator Russ Goodman, works to ensure farmers, producers, and consumers have the tools they need to thrive. Senator Lee Anderson serves as Vice Chair, Senator Larry Walker III as Secretary, and members include Senators Max Burns, Drew Echols, Bo Hatchett, Carden Summers, and Sam Watson.
This past session, the committee focused on supporting Georgians impacted by Hurricane Helene, championing legislation such as the TREES Act to provide much-needed relief and help farmers and rural communities recover and rebuild. In addition, the committee has worked to strengthen Georgia’s reputation as a national leader in agriculture by addressing issues that matter to both producers and consumers—protecting family farms, expanding markets, and ensuring food safety.
From storm recovery to modernizing laws that keep Georgia agriculture competitive, the Senate Study Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs is leading with solutions that put Georgia’s farm families first. By tackling challenges head-on and embracing opportunities for growth, Senate Republicans are making sure agriculture remains the backbone of our economy and a proud tradition that carries Georgia forward for generations to come.
