Hey @gkittle46, a future @49ers tight end here? What do you think of his form!? Haha. Holding the ball tight and checks back for defender halfway through. My son is still one but loves running with his football.
This one shocked me. It’s Joe D for crying out loud. I’m like that little teary-eyed kid in ‘Eight Men Out’ - “Say it ain’t so Joe. Say it ain’t so.” Joe is simply the best. What he has done for the Sac Bee and this community over the decades is just beyond words … 1/3
3/3 … He isn’t done in this business I’m sure and will still do amazing things somewhere else - but this is still outrageous. Shit. @SacBee_JoeD
2/3 … In my sports writing days I got to work alongside Joe D many times and there is no one like him. He is multiple reporters in one. There is so much love and respect and admiration for Joe in this region. This was not how you should let Joe D’s remarkable Bee run end. … 2/3

What advice does Mark Pope have for young, aspiring journalists?
I’m teaching an upper‑level journalism course at #UK this semester, and on Thursday, I took my class to Pope’s press conference. I asked him what guidance he’d give the next generation of journalists. His answer was worth hearing.

You can’t market an event as NBA All-Star Saturday Night for years and then quietly move it to the afternoon.
I’m seeing a ton of people (including some media members!) who had no idea about the afternoon start. 🙃
#kings doing ok against Texas teams (3-3 vs. #rockets, #mavericks, #spurs) but haven’t beat a non-Texas team since Dec. 6. #nba

Let’s be perfectly clear here:
Sac State wants to continue the Causeway, Davis (for whatever reason) does not.
Bottom line. Sad for the region.
The Causeway Classic between Sac State and UC Davis has been played since 1954. Saturday is a win-and-in scenario for both teams and their playoff hopes.
The rivalry game will then take a pause for the foreseeable future until they find a scheduling agreement. Sac State looks likely to be playing as an independent next year in its pursuit of an FBS invite.

Cecil Fielder hitting 51 HRs was such a huge deal in 1990.
First to hit 50 HRs since 1977.
Only he & George Foster (1977) hit 50 between 1965 and 1995.
It’s been done 30 times in the 30 years since (1995-2025).
