My brother and I are researching this disaster. Here's some notes from our reseaech: 1. Canadian parliament member is reporting a media blackout (grrr) 2. Approx ~5 aircraft appear to be associated with this event. 3. Current reported fire zone is ~2.5mi SE from Wainwright explosives storage. NASA FIRMS shows historical hotspots between current reported burn and explosives storage 4. Local resident reports seeing potentially up to ~150 casualties 5. Wainwright hospital is overwhelmed. Hospital is small, only ~25 beds. 6. Local school is currently being used as a triage center per local civilian 7. Photo evidence of ~5 civilian ambulances, at least 1 ISV, and other military vehicles being used to transport casualties 8. Local trucker reports support convoy heading to Wainwright ~1.5hr ago Notably: Edmonton hospitals (all of them) are currently operating between 97-105% capacity prior to incident, meaning the volume of casualties to overwhelm is relatively low (they have total approx 2500 beds). Wainwright would be overwhelmed by ~20+ casualties. This appears to be an ammunition explosion during a training exercise resulting in a large, rapidly spreading fire that is current burning in a southeastern direction, with multiple agencies responding. There appear to be 100-200 total casualties with limited triage support available, exacerbating the emergency.
