No, you don't get it. He does not have $1 trillion sitting in cash, it is 99% stock in his companies. To make that wealth liquid would mean selling all that stock which would swiftly destroy *both* the companies (Tesla, SpaceX, others) and the wealth. If he sold it all, he'd end up with maybe $100b max, several hundred thousand people would be out of work, the companies ruined and many of their suppliers also ruined. Okay, but now Elon has $100b in cash, and can "solve the world's problems". $100b divided by the world's 8 billion people is $12 If you were in charge, several of the most innovative industrial companies in the world would be destroyed, hundreds of thousands out of work, and space would again close to human civilization for another generation. But everyone on earth could have one nice meal and you could revel in your altruism.

Everything costs more, even stocks. When the value of the dollar decreases, everything priced in dollars increases.

XRP distribution is centrally controlled, the ledger is distributed, the network is decentralized. Bitcoin is a different beast, everything from distribution to confirming transactions is all systematically intertwined. Both work great, XRP requires a bit more trust but provides a more progressive performance based protocol. BTC sacrifices performance but provides a more conservative and secure asset by minimalizing governance and limiting complexity.

Sorry, I don’t agree. You’re telling me this is all about the tech, it has nothing to do with an actual f-ing asset being born digitally? C’mon.. These assets aren’t valued in progress, progressive is to be governed. The value is in code, not a founder—a system, not governance.

While Director of the SEC—Bill Hinman named $ETH a commodity alongside $BTC. He received over $9M in profit sharing from Simpson Thacher, a partner of Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. Shortly after, Hinman resigned from the SEC and now serves as Senior Advisor at Simpson Thatcher.

Why do people compare Bitcoin to Visa? Visa takes 2-3 days for a transaction to actually complete, wouldn’t processing time actually be quicker if Bitcoin was used to settle net transfers?

Extending on post below. #Bitcoin was not just invented one day by some very smart people (Satoshi Nakamoto). It's the product of 20+ years of trial-and-error by 700+ pro-freedom computer engineers trying to save humanity from the totalitarian digital prison we now see emerging. #Bitcoin is freedom's only hope for survival -- because whoever controls your money controls you. Bitcoin separates money from state.

When the value of the USD goes down substantially, all things measured in USD presents the illusion that they are going up in value.

Everyone asks, what is Bitcoin backed by? Everything in digital form requires trust, IOUs backed by an issuer. Gold is backed by a promise they’re holding your reserves. Banks are backed by the promise they have your cash. Bitcoin is not backed, and that’s why it’s valuable.
